What is the average myco-bag yield?
    #1277900 - 02/04/03 11:10 AM (22 years, 10 months ago)

I've searched the board 10x over. I am currently growing the Equador strain in a mycobag. If i leave it in the bag (and not transport it into a regular casing), how much dry is expected. From what it seems like, there's been a few people on this board who have used mycobags with equador. I've heard tons of different estimates ranging from 1/8th to 20 grams. This doesn't need to turn into a bashing about how myco-bags suck and/or people posting random numbers that they heard from someone who heard from someone whose grandmother made them. And incase anyone is wondering why i am not going about just using casing, i live in a dorm room and can't really have shrooms growing out in the open
Thanks

If you dunk after each flush, I wouldn't rule out 14-18 grams w/o casing the bag. My philosophy would be "I expect an eighth, and anything extra is a bonus."

no idea, I took mine out of the bag so it would have more room to grow. I think it is a better option than letting it fruit in the bag.

If you read my grow log, I've had 5 flushes so far, I haven't posted up the 5th flushes weight, but using the general 10% rule, I should be getting 8 grams dry, add it on the the total for just the bag, that should be about 50 grams.

Edit: spelling

"If you read my grow log"
How do I read your grow log? I inoculated 2 myco bags with equador almost 2 weeks ago and I would love to know what method you used to get 50grams out of one myco bag. Help me out. You didn't case them right? Did you dunk them each flush?

Well, your going to want to scroll up, and click "Main Index"
Then click "Grow Log Forum"
Then click on "Myco grow Bag from Sporeworks log(9/19 update)". depending on how many posts you see on a page, you might have to go to page 2.

I inoculated my myco bags on 1/24 and they show no signs of mycelium. I didn't know that I should break up the subsrate, I just injected it the way it came to me in the mail. Will it be ok or should I break it now? They look like they did the day I got them. I injected 5cc in each bag (equador).

Those details can be pesky but you should be ok
I would mix them now.
Best of luck.

i suggest first doing a search, then posting a new thread rather than posting in other un-related threads
