cheap container: good idea or disaster waiting to happen?

Well.. unfortunately for me, it's rent time and it had gone up, so i was trying to think of a good cheap container. If i could steal them from work i'd be totally set, so then i was thinking what could i steal from work. boxes, i work in a DG so we have lots of boxes around and i was thinking if i lined it with a bag or what would be perfect is like a spray on polymer that hardened to a tough plastic. but, not very economically sound at the moment.

so i'm going to use a bag, i remember a cheap fruiting chamber built up sorta like that.. using chopsticks or what not. This way though you can also control the light even when you have to go in there and look around.. plus it's disposable.. in great abundace (imagine how much packaging material is thrown away every year) so in a way i'm reusing what would've otherwise been rotting away in a land fill.

I was just going to case in this though and keep it moist in there.. without the use of a terrarium. Let it be it's own terrarium.. I've done this with a straw bed with great success but was going to add a little dung and potting soil to this dung to give it a nice matrix to grow on.

Good idea or no?

Also something interesting:
I was cooking up some millet and rye to innoculate and unfortunately what was in the bottom was a real hard cake and loose dry kernels on top. i didn't feel like wasting all that considering i got it all from the health food store, not that cheap. So i substituted the millet for the whole quiona and the rye from the whole brown rice. Ground up the quiona and brown rice and followed accordingly.. leaving out the birdseed (millet took care of that). So just by rearranging the matrix i went from 0-100% colonization in 10 days. I'm not dissing aliens recipe at all.. i mean.. i love it and still use it. but.. i just thought it amazing. I innoculated the 25th of Jan. Fastest jar i EVER had. Creeper strain.

that is all i think.. i appreciate any and all input.. .
except if you're going to bitch about my format or grammar or something

As long as you have the proper conditions,
Light
Temp
Humidity
Air exchange
Then is does not matter what you have as a container.
