After soaking 24hrs and now draining millet

So I put the millet in a bowl of water for 24hrs. The next day I put it a strainer overnight and its all mushy and still VERY moist. Isn't too much moisture bad for mycelium growth. Someone please steer me in the right direction.

Once you PC the grain it will come out just right. Make sure you have holes in your lids and foil covering the tops.

So I put the millet and the mush millet in the jars, put the aluminum on top, and put top on with holes poked in. And I will be set to inoc them.

How mushy is your millet? When I get done soaking mine it is about 3 times bigger in size but still fairly firm and intact. You can squish it bettween your fingers, but it is not like mush in the pot.
The lid with holes in it goes on the jars first and then you put the foil over the lid. The foil is removed later once the jars are cool and before you injest your spores.

I'm goin to look at the deathheads birdseed tek, but from what you're saying. soak for 12 hours, then fill half pint jars 1/3 a cup of millet. then 40 mL of distilled water and PC for 50 minutes.

Right on. Well load that stuff into your jars till there about 1/2-2/3 full and put on your lids and foil. Load into your PC and sterilize for the proper amount of time. Shake the crap out of them once they are done. If they are to wet you will have a big clump at the bottom of the jars that will not break up. If you do, start over. If you don' t, let them cool and inject yor spores.

No....
Try this..
do a search for 6T's wild bird seed tek,, works 100 % of the time.. and you can't fuck it up..
you just soak the grain for 12 hours, then dump in strainer, and RINSE it well to remove the gunk and brown juice from the grain.. then let it drain for 30 minutes minimum then load your jars 3/4 full.
Put on the lid with the holes and the ring, (* use polyfill to plug the hole you make in the lid, hole should be about 1/4 inch wide.. )
cover this with a few layers of coffee filters held in place with rubber band, and then cover all this with alum foil~!
then PC for 1 hr 30 minutes!

If you do the soak it method , only let soak for 12 hours , then fill jars as usuall . Try this .... is method cousin "IT" uses , and it works very good , no burst kernels yet , plenty of moisture for jars that are two months old (fully colonized ) , enough room in jars to shake grain when at that stage . For the cousin "IT" method no time lost waiting for grain to soak up water , it is done in the steaming process of aoutclav or pressure cooker . Put dry grain in jars ,add water pc or ac 50 min , shake to break up when cool enough , innoc with agar wedge , or injection(if doing injection add 1 tablespoon more grain and 10 mls more water, makes jar fuller ) from syringe . I hope this makes sense now . 6T is a master at grain , he does the soak method . ps this is for milo/millet , have no idea if will work as well with millet only .

6T's tek works very well..
personally if i'm in a rush, i'll simmer the grain in water inside a pot, until it swells up to it's max potential * usually takes about 1 hr.
then i let it cool down, rinse, drain, load , and PC.

Hmm, well I'll load jars of both teks in it. I heard that the more tryptamine in the seed makes the shrooms more potent.

next time you put the millet in the strainer try tiltling it in different directions. when i use millet i just use the basic soak tek, but i find that even after an hour or two in the strainer, a lot of water will still drain off if i tilt it sideways. before i noticed this i had huge probs with water content.
