Did an assigment on this back in highschool.

if you dont clean your dick when its not circumcised, your probably not going to take good care of it when it is cut

im sorry, its just not hard to clean, and thats a terrible excuse.  The only people you hear argue that point are the people that are completely ignorant on the subject, which is common, because its understandably hard to conceptualize having a foreskin when you have never had one in your sentient years

If you're talking about circumcision, it is not the same thing.  The male equivalent of what they do to these girls would be hacking off the head of your dick.

I don't see how anyone could be callous about this when you really think about what's going on here.  They do this to children.  And then as teenagers, they rip them open.  It's the ultimate objectification of women for men's convenience.  There is no excuse for treating a human being this way.

I'm sure there are exceptions but from what I've heard, in many of these cultures it's the adult women that preform the mutilation.
The people who go through the mutilation are the ones who preform it

female genital mutilation is just as bad as male genital mutilation. they are both performed to varying degrees. some men are left castrated, on one extreme, while some are left with enough skin to pass ass intact.

the same can be said for females. some are left w/o any external skin and an amputated clitoris, while some have a slight labia "trim".

either way, no one should have their sexuality permanetley altered without their consent especially as an infant. circumsicion does a lot more to the penis than most americans think.

80% of males on this planet are left intact, and get along just fine. circumsicion peaked in the 1970's U.S.A at 78-80%. it has become culturally accepted/the norm to have mutilated genitals in the united states, yet it is a taboo subject for some reason.

if any of you guys who showed distaste in this thread about being mutilated as infants want some info on how to restore what was lost, PM me or inquire here. it is free and does not require surgery, only time and commitment. the sexual and psychological benefits are out of this world. let me know.

no, simply putting tension on skin. over time it encourages the cells to divide (mitosis) which means skin growth. the end result being a fully functual foreskin, one in which no one would be the wiser.

the glans (head) of the penis becomes more sensitive from being covered with your own skin, as opposed to scratching against clothing and whatnot. the new skin on the shaft allows for a gliding action during intercourse/masturbation that eliminates friction and the need for lube.

Im  not saying it makes it right, I am saying that it makes it different.
I think that if boys in the US were being held down to have their forskin and possibly the head cut off at the ages of 4-8, then it would be just like the African problem (and with out a doubt the American people would not allow it to happen in our country, no matter what sick tradition)

Also, the tradition of circumcision was start to prevent disease and infection.. what they are doing to the girls in africa actually creates it

People do not circumcise boys to prevent pleasure or ensure virginity.

Sorry but I still say that its completely different

I understand your point, but it is the same in one way because it is an out dated practice. Yes the female mutilation is far far more grotesque. Also in Jewish tradition its is a religious rite and I am pretty sure female mutilation is also somewhat ceremonial and religious.
My main point is that circumcision is out dated and should therefore be done away with unless I guess ...your Jewish because you wouldn't be keeping the whole "covenant" made with god unless you were circumcised.
IDK about you, but i think changing someones body PERMANANTLY without consent is wrong. Even though the effects of circumcision are debatable still if there is even reason not to....it shouldnt be done without consent of the person....i.e. not when you are 8 days old.

I think that many parents have a fear that their kids will be mocked in school or feel inadequate if they are different from their friends.

No offense, but I was pretty weirded out when I saw a guy uncircumcised for the first time... maybe I live amongst to many jews, but its not that common here

Personally I wouldn't circumcise my child, but I can see the reason why some parents might choose too.

Plus, if anyone is truly doing for religious reasons then I would hope that they would completely live by every law in the old testament (being Kosher ect.), and not just abiding that one!

I grew up in a largely christian/catholic town and almost all the guys were cut.  Very few weren't, including me.
