Did an assigment on this back in highschool.

What I don't get though is, sure they get a virgin... but they get a disgusting, disfigured, infected vagina after they get married :shrug: whats the benefit :shrug:

circumcision can be argued for hygiene purposes

female mutilation is just a horrible practice.
aside from infection and loss of sensitivity it can cause complications during birth

if you dont clean your dick when its not circumcised, your probably not going to take good care of it when it is cut

im sorry, its just not hard to clean, and thats a terrible excuse.  The only people you hear argue that point are the people that are completely ignorant on the subject, which is common, because its understandably hard to conceptualize having a foreskin when you have never had one in your sentient years

If you're talking about circumcision, it is not the same thing.  The male equivalent of what they do to these girls would be hacking off the head of your dick.

I don't see how anyone could be callous about this when you really think about what's going on here.  They do this to children.  And then as teenagers, they rip them open.  It's the ultimate objectification of women for men's convenience.  There is no excuse for treating a human being this way.

I'm sure there are exceptions but from what I've heard, in many of these cultures it's the adult women that preform the mutilation.
The people who go through the mutilation are the ones who preform it
