Voted 1/8 shrooms because, I like the shrooms experience more than the acid experience. With shrooms I feel a deep ancient connection to earth and usually have very spiritual experiences. With acid I often get caught up in how cool everything looks and don't do any philosophical thinking which later only makes me disappointed.
In short shrooms leave me feeling wiser and humbler.
Acid leaves me feeling like I want more acid.

I voted acid because I havent had any in a long time.
But, if they are both free, why am I being forced to make a choice?

shrooms give me a much more laid back euphoric feeling. acid gives me an intense oh my lord! i love life feeling!
I have enough energy as it is and acid just amplifies it so i choose shrooms

Voted the LSD, I already get mushrooms for free most of the time..
and I've been really desiring some LSD as of late, and it's staying away despite there supposed to be some coming..

Chose acid for the simple reason that it is harder to find, as it seems to be with other voters.
If I had an abundance of both, I would take shrooms more often than acid, though.

i like the experience of lsd way more than mushrooms. mushrooms to me are very spiritual and i would only do them solo or with a 1 other friend. acid is very easy going and appeals to more people. i know many people who don't fuck with boomers but take lsd religiously.

I voted the acid because its so hard to find. Ive only found legit tabs once. Anyway I like them both equally but to me shrooms are something you do alone. theyre more emotional, spiritual, and introspective. acid seems to be more energetic and less introspective. Something you can do with people easier.

At the risk of sounding like a pussy I'm going to explain why I voted for the acid team.
I like mushrooms quite a bit more because of the connection I feel to the earth, nature and the awesome thoughts I have, however... the most I've ever taken was a half an eighth and I was always FUCKED off of that. An entire 1/8 would ruin me. Two hits of acid and I've always been able to keep my composure aside from some laughter at inappropriate/strange times.
In short: I'd be a little nervous to take an eighth of shrooms but two hits of acid is actually on my menu for this Saturday! Word!

sometimes i have a harder time handling 2g of mushrooms than i do 4g+
what gets me the most with mushrooms is the mindfuck, and i focus on the mindfuck more when there isn't much visual appeal (low doses) so when i eat enough that everything is morphing and covered in infinitely changing geometric patterns i'm too in awe by that to focus on what's going on in my mind.
ofc it also depends on the setting and who i'm with. but higher dose mushies for me is where it's at.
i haven't pushed to hard with acid since my first trip because i freaked out from taking too much. i'm easing into heavier trips with lucy now, i love what i've experienced i just don't wanna take too much and be stuck in paranoid thought loops for 7 hours again.

I voted LSD because I was only able to obtain it once, and it changed my entire life. It was the single most important, most signifigant night to my spirituality and the major changes I've made in my life.
So yeah, I would LOVE to try it again.
Shrooms, well. I'm all tripped out when it comes to boomers. I think mushrooms are an excellent psychedelic and have all kinds of uses, and I still do use them occasionally just not even remotely as often as I did in the beginning. Went from every few days, to every few months. Plus I always have mushrooms, so it's not as appetizing. I still have mushrooms from varieties I've grown that I haven't even sampled yet. I am def. gonna sample the Penis Envy when I do get around to growing it, as I was told it varies the most in character and potency from any other cubensis. I don't plan on eating mushrooms anymore, now I just sorta do it when it feels right, but I would like to trip at a national forest or something.
Plus the one time I did LSD, I had far more "intriguing" hallucinations. I see shrooms as more of a natural trip, whereas LSD is semi-synthetic, and my HPPD has been quite literally "electrified" ever since. I like all the bright lights! Psychedelics leave "psuedo-scars" as I've called them in the past, with people who have HPPD. Different drugs/psychedelics leave different types of scars. It's hard to pin point which drug caused what, but it's very apparent for me to say the way things look really lit up, was indeed from the acid.
Acid saved my life. As far as I'm concerned LSD being legalized is just as important if not more important then ending prohibition for say, Marijuana. And believe me, I need my medicinal MJ more then most.

Acid (LSD) is better because it offers more stimulation and lasts longer. Otherwise, the differences between LSD and psilocybin are pretty subtle.

i honestly love them both, but acid is really god damn simple and easy to take, an d has personally had a higher rate of success than shrooms, if shrooms were as easy to dose and measure dose as lsd i would like them both equally, but in the end it depends what your looking for in a trip at the time. oh also shrooms are better for me than acid financially because i get them free, almost 2 kilos fresh this year alone and season is still going :P

I'm not sure what I was thinking but I'd say it was thought loops. I was so fascinated and I was almost in awe after I drew thought bubbles, and then drew another one in that one. For some reason my first acid trip could be summed up like that. You know like that one .gif where the guys face gets eaten by his own face and that keeps on happening? trippy shit

the question was, "which of these would you rather take for free?"
Since I have never even seen acid, of course I'd like to try it for free, who wouldn't?

Why would you take something you're not even sure you would like when you could just take the shroom trip you've already known and liked?

We all ate around 6 grams and it was a first timer, me, and this kid thats done it before, and the kid thats done it before freaked out so hard. Lets just say for 2 hours he was on the ground moaning and squealing while drawing with colored pencils. And everytime I asked him to see what he was drawing he would say "SHUT THE FUCK UP". Never gonna do anything with that kid again....total freakout. We saw the real side of our friend. I'm glad that psychedelics show your true colors.

I dropped cid with a couple of my buddies about a year ago and one of them was a first-timer and he took two hits which is normal for me but it was some amazing shit
while the rest of us sat and watched how the walls kept moving and pulsating to the music for a couple hours, the first timer rolled around on the ground laughing the entire time
Friend: "Guys, you think he is going to be ok?"
Me: "I dunno looks to me like he is having a great time"

I would much much rather 2 hits of some good cid. I grabbed an 1/8th of shrooms tonight and just ended up not feeling like eating them.
Shrooms are like such an explosion of every emotion known and not known to man all at once. The peak is fuckin unbelievable and almost unbearable. Not to mention I always feel like I have a sinus infection when I take it.
Acid is just... pure bliss. It just looks and feels totally magical. Though theres always that something about acid that doesnt feel right. Like my teeth always feel dirty as fuck. Or I get metal mouth. I love it though regardless. Acid is by and far my favorite past time outside of spending time with my family.
Too bad I can almost never get it and when I do its fucking weak as shit.

Exactly. Acid is more of a social drug, which is alright, but I love the way mushies feel. I would rather take those anyday, they are so much more free flowing

Acid. Most definitely. The few times I've taken acid have been the most amazing experiences of my life. I've never felt so me and alive from them. Shrooms are nice sure, but I don't mix all too well with them at times but I certainly enjoy the spiritualness of the shrooms more.

I'll take me the shrooms please. I have used both many times and I find them both to be interesting but very different. It seems that I have almost always taken acid in group settings. I find it to be not be a very clean trip. I feel edgy, dingy, tense, chemically, and fucked up. LSD never really seemed to give me what I was looking for with regards to introspective thoughts or personal enrichment. It was however fun none the less. On mushrooms I feel that I have had transformative experiences that have brought me closer to understanding myself and how I fit into the world. I most enjoy mushrooms while tripping in the forest or along side of a lake or pond. You truly feel as though you are a part of nature. Finally, there is nothing more disconcerting than having sex while on acid and looking down at the face of the person you are with, only to see it endlessly transfigured into disturbing images. It made me wonder if that was the true nature of the person I was with. Weird!

How can you have grades of acid anyway- if you know the amount per dose you just take how much you want to take. 75 mics, 100 mics- doesn't really matter, it's all the same stuff. Same could be said of mushrooms. The only time it might matter is if someone is quoting your bad prices.

nah, acid does come in different "grades"
i have had reallllly good acid, and then i have had acid that provided obvious different effects visually and better feelings than others
i've heard its most likely due to the chemical degrading over time, getting old
some think it's impurities
but there is definitely some acid that will be alittle different than other acid

To what degree do you think that is subjective? What your saying would assume that any impurities would affect the psychoactivity- which they would very most likely not. I have found all of my acid to be the same basic experience only graduated by the amount per dose.

coming from someone who has eaten around 300 hits of acid in the past year
and like i said, not impurity, but chemical degradation from aging more likely
i didnt believe it either at first when i heard someone say it...you just need to do more acid, different doses form different sources and you will know

I'm more of a mushroom kind of person, ive tried LSD and it was a bit too edgy for my liking. DMT is always a great choice for me as far as psychedelics go

Shrooms. Acid is fun, but "ok" acid can't be compared to the pure strong stuff. I can get both just about as easily, but shrooms are much more communal and spirtual to me. They are unaltered fruits of the earth, while acid is a chemically altered extract of the egrot fungus. lol Funny how they're both fungi. Shrooms are good to get in touch with the environment and life, acid is great for an intense introspective experience to me.

I'd have to take the acid, unless you were offering me some other mushrooms more potent than cubensis because that would be something a bit different for me so I'd consider it.
The main reason being LSD is damn near impossible to find locally in my life so I'd rather take that since it's so scarce. I've managed to get my hands on it many times but it's not something you can just call someone and get around here. Anyone with half a brain can have large quantities of mushrooms for a super low price if they really want them. You can't just make your own acid.
I do somewhat prefer the LSD trip as well, for numerous reasons but mostly due to mushrooms generally giving me a nauseous feeling once I come up on more than 3 grams or so. Not to say I haven't had crazy amazing experiences on larger doses but acid just is easier on my stomach and mind. Plus the acid trip is a bit longer (could be a point against it in certain instances I suppose).
So yeah, the acid without question. I still love my mushrooms experiences don't get me wrong.

I don't know if its just because I'm in Indiana and the quality of the cid I've gotten my hands on is particularly low or something, but in my experience, acid has left me feeling completely obliterated the day after like a hang over from hell. Shrooms have the afterglow and keep you feeling nice for the next few days, so shrooms all the way for me.

i guess i'm just the opposite of everyone. two hits of acid if i want a good adventure and mindfuck. an 1/8 of mush if i feel like chilling.
in this minute, i would take the acid only because i want to expand upon my recent experience with it as i really really really liked it. but when it comes down to picking one over the other i just don't think i could do that. i love them both the same.

I'd take the shrooms, I have an enormous tolerance to lsd now and you did say "2 hits of OK acid" not very strong acid or anything, 1/8th of decent shrooms will sure mash my brain up though

ive taken shrooms a few times and theyre pretty hard to measure and predict.
ive only taken half a hit of acid so i cant speak to that. but id rather experience acid than try shrooms again.

there is no good acid around my neck of the woods anymore
It's been about 10 years since i seen anything good
i remember doing 2 hits and just being so fucking high
that id feel like i wasn't gonna come down.
I do 2 hits now and its not the same at all
very weak. so I would say mushrooms 
but when I was younger acid was king   
what I found out was that 3 major acid chemist from san fransico got
busted for manufacturing of l.s.d, and hasn't been the same since.

I think this was not a fair question. The very nature of the question is questionable. 2 hits of "ok" acid or 1/8 of ??? shrooms.
With the shrooms, I assume you're talking about cubes, since they're the most common. But, the difference between "ok" acid and "good, clean" acid can be the difference between Heaven and Hell. So, I picked the shrooms. But, back in the day I had some of that "orange sunshine" acid....a couple of hits of that would tip my scale the other way. That was the only stuff I was ever able to take completely alone and still function around people. It felt like taking all the beautiful sights, sounds, and feelings of the world and wrapping yourself up in it like a blanket.    I actually went to my college tennis class and doubles tournament on it...and played better than I'd ever played before in my life. I could just feel where the ball was going. The sounds of the racket cutting through the air and the ball hitting the racket and spinning off into the green ocean of painted cement just had me in a trance. (the court actually felt/looked like dark, open sea water at times and tall, green grass blowing in the wind at others) I spent the rest of the day wandering campus in awe of the landscaping or watching all the other students walking by in the center quad. At one point I just lay down in the grass under the shade of a tree and watched it do it's thing for what seemed like hours. But, as time tends to be on LSD, it might have only been a few minutes.
I guess the same could be said about most any acid at silver level and up...though I felt a special connection to that sunshine that I just never found in the never-ending sheets of silver that came and went in huge quantities in the early 90's. Had some fluff at one point that was pretty awesome as well. But, as I said, the difference between that and say, lavender, was/is HUGE. I think anyone who's taken enough vitamin-L over the years would say the same.
Great idea for a poll, I just feel like it was too general.

Bump! Back from the dead! OK, SWIM seems to be the opposite of many people in that acid affects SWIM way more than Shrooms. SWIM took one peace sign tab and completely freaked out, most intense experience of life, just too much, was so relieved when it came down.
With Shrooms on the other hand, SWIM seems to be able to eat as many as SWIM wants and never gets to that "next level", even at base tolerance. SWIM will eat as much or more as other people in the room who are raving about the intense visuals and even more intense peaking, but SWIM just has mild visuals (brighter colors, depth perception), enhanced awareness, and happy euphoric feeling . SWIM loves shrooms for that reason and wishes SWIM could do them everyday without the tolerance or mental health risks. The only discomfort SWIM gets from shrooms is cold nose and sweats. And the annoying yawning.

No problem in responding to an old thread, not like he just said "Bump." and the end. Having done both countless times, I really feel much more inclined toward LSD because the mushroom "mindfuck", or lack of control over my thoughts/mind", can often be too much to handle. I do feel however that there is a benefit/lesson to the thought patterns and "mindfuck" that mushrooms stir up, however, I've always felt I gained a lot from my LSD trips, without the concern of dropping off a cliff into a land of self inflicted misery quite like mushrooms are capable of handing out.
That said, I do love mushrooms as well and am deeply grateful that they are something I've experienced and will continue to be able to experience.

If you can fall asleep on shrooms then you either didn't take enough to trip or you aren't tripping anymore. Also WTF is up with this noob "bumping" a thread this old and then using SWIM...

I'd rather take the shrooms, they have yet to let me down,
and the first time I took LSD I wasn't in the right state of mind, I was EXTREMELY Heart broken and Obsessing about it, and I still took the LSD On a extremely lonely, windy, summer night and It led to a trip through hell on earth... I got betray on this trip by the dealer, and my best friend saved me by coming to visit and talk.
So I would stick with the shrooms.

I like acid WAY more than shrooms. I like the strong euphoria, deep mental confusion, and visual/auditory hallucinations of acid way more. Also alot longer of an experience, so you get more bang for your buck.

Did the trip through hell at least afford some revelations on your situation by comedown? I've always found that the big catch with vitamin L is that your worst trips are sometimes also your best. I know what you mean though. The mushrooms probably would have at least ended sooner.
With mushrooms, it seems like they're more dark and internal. However, you can still get an E ticket ride through the far reaches of the cosmos...if you take enough. People say, "I don't ever hallucinate on mushrooms." I say, have you tried taking 5-10 grams instead of 2? Or maybe move to copes or one of the more potent varieties?

It's not so easy to answer.
First 10 years of my trippin'(about 10 times), it was only lsd. Shrooms was so easy to find...almost not to worth Your attention
Last 10 years if I tripped(about 15 times), it was shrooms. And few days ago, true and good lsd hitted me(about 150 ug). It was gift!
So, I can compare almost directly 150ug of acid and 4.5g Cubensis, tripped 3 weeks on by one(note - first acid afer 10 years of shrooms(ok, i've tried 2ce two years ago, interesting trip but terrific bodyload. Anyway, much worse than acid or shrooms).
Acid sounds better for...younger persons. Really.
Shrooms for older. Because:
1. Better eyes!. Lsd OEV visuals are "fractal quality and texture dependent". You have to have good sight to enjoy them fully. Shrooms are more "big objects" oriented, curves, shapes, scales rather than textures. Lsd generates more "object breathing, flowing and fuzzy objects, texture morphing", shrooms more "swirling, scale deformations, plants and shadows moving, frowing fractals-like shapes".
2. 10h total experience is OK when You are 25, but when You are 42, like me, 6h is much better. It includes logistic, free time etc. Acid requires 24h reserving, while shrooms does not - only few hours. In my age, 6h it's perfect, 10h is too long. And "peak" of the acid is only 60-90min longer than shrooms, while boring "afterglow" 3-4h longer. Not a good deal.
3. Music. It's extremally personal, but again. Acid gives better experience of hard, guitar music, angelic voices etc. etc.
Shrooms prefers ethno, trance, ambient. Both, expecially in addition of MJ can give You "orgasm like" listening experience, but I found shrooms better for "older people". Ozric Tentacles for shrooms and energetic rock for acid
4. Shrooms experience is more "organic", lsd experience is more "technical" for me. It's hard to explain...Anyway, lsd gives some "stimuli and ADHD", power to walk, move on, for sex on it(highly recommended!). It's better for younger persons. Shrooms gives "minus power". Body weakness. More spiritual, more hyperconnected, less physically energetic, more "in place" trip. Better for older persons. For that reason, acid is more social and better for group trip. Shrooms are better for solo trips.
5. Colors - acid amplifies primary colors(for me red and blue expecially), while shrooms rather "earthy and warm colors". Yellows, oranges, brownies, greens. So, in my home there are more earthy colors, so I prefer them for a trip. Silly, but true.
6. Acid gives me more "third person perspective", cool analysis than heat of emotions. Acid is less emphatic, more "to observe" and euphoria. I preferred it when I was Young(more control while city trippin', more social silly ha-ha giggling). Shrooms gives me "first person perspective", highly emphatic, more drama, more "heaven and hell" feelings, just sit and look at the trees and mountais ;-). And, while shrooms are less "social euphoric", they are more "body euphoric" - somewhat like nirvana-state. In my best lsd-trip, i've never ever cried for a hapiness, but shrooms can do that with me(and i'm rather never-to-cry-man).
7. it's easy to get on the 4 or 5 level of experience with shrooms. it's very hard to get there on the acid. And first 5-10 trips on the 2-3 level is ok, but afer it...it's somewhat boring, so, I prefer it less often(one time for a 2-3 months) but very hard.
Lsd leaves me with "i want MORE lsd next time, peak was quite exciting, but ater peak it was so looong and boring, i wanted it to end".
Shrooms leaves me with "peak was quite outstanding, and I wanted it to last forever".
So, if I was 25, i would choose acid. Now, when i'm 42, i prefer shrooms. period

when I had plenty acid that I got cheaply, only time I got L, it was amazingly spiritual and humbling , one of the most important events in my life one of those trips where I got reborn
2 hits of L can fail you, L is usually weak these days
but 1/8th of mushies can mindfuck you too much so you think you're insane for hours and dying
I might take the 2 hits of L, but not sure... hard to chose
if it was good stamps I would definitely take the LSD
if it was weak stamps then definitely the mushrooms, because I usually need 3 hits to trip
There is nothing more spiritual about mushrooms for me, I actually find LSD to be the most spiritual - but they can show me exactly the same
connect me to my higher self when I do it right - I just feel LSD does it much better , mushrooms can distort my thinking too much
the long lasting effects are better on LSD for sure for me, but only 10% better or so
the trip looks 90% the same between mushrooms and lsd for me, can hardly tell them apart on trip effects
visuals look the same too almost, 95% the same..
both can be very spiritual in nature, but in nature I would prefer the LSD for sure
LSD you can also much easier walk around on / function on

It seems you have to learn to let go with each psychedelic
it only opens up fully when you can listen to yourself on it, it may take 50-100 sessions before LSD starts getting spiritual, it did for me
with mushrooms it took maybe 20+ trips before they seemed spiritual, but there I already had tripped LSD
they show you yourself, so none is more spiritual
mescaline,shrooms,lsa,lsd - same thing
lsa should even be more fun than lsd i often hear, but more dangerous/unpleasant

They're both fun. It's just preference. Simple trivia to keep in mind, though...
If it wasn't for medicinal research of mushrooms/fungus, specifically Ergot, we wouldn't have LSD.
