Splinter Cell : Conviction

So when this game was first shown, I wasn't really impressed... They made a big deal out of being able to carry any object.. Really Ubisoft? Was that the best you could do?
Well, I guess they saw the error of their ways and pretty much remade the game.
These two videos show off this new version. Its SO brutal, so badass.
So excited for this game.
Whats everyone elses opinion?

I am more interested in the Beta access it comes with for the new Ghost Recon.

I was going to say the same thing! Splinter Cell does look sick sickly though.
Ubisoft games are usually hit-or-miss for me. I never liked the Ghost Recon single player and never got into the Splinter Cell series. They're soooo slow. I think they've learned how to properly pace a game now though, Assasins Creed 2 was crazy good.

I love Ubisoft. Even though there is usually always a pretty big flaw in each of their games, there are usually some truly amazing aspects as well.
I know some people think this new system they made for SC makes it too easy, but to me... It just makes Sam Fisher become a true badass.
I don't care about challenge when I am going "YEAH! WHAT BITCH!! THAT WAS FUCKING AWESOME!" And Ive seen him do something like that in every damn trailer
In the first trailer, when he jumps across the table, knocks the guy over, and then beats the shit out of both of them.
Second trailer... When he silence machine gunned that guy through the doorway.. The NPC's reaction to getting shot was great.

It looks fun, was it just me or was that the person playing able to pull off successive headshots at an impossible rate, like the game was doing the aiming or something?

It was probably the console version.

Its their new gameplay mechanic, mark and execute. You "Mark" them by pressing a button, and then whenever you have a clear shot, you press some button and it cenimatically kills them.
Its the whole reason alot of people are saying that they dumb down the game.
But you are not obligated to use it.

Interesting, that is sort of a cool feature. I think I will prefer to aim manually though

Wow, never seen that before. The "mark and execute" feature does seem a bit cheap and also unrealistic, and from those trailers, I don't like how the game seems more gun-centric. I remember Chaos Theory, I'd never use my guns (except shooting out lights) unless there was no other choice; running up to them and socking them in the face was always much more rewarding.
Regardless, the game does look good. I'll wait for reviews.

Looks really fun in the last video. I could do without the objectives in huge letters all over the wall, something less in your face would be nice

The story being very short has made me not want to buy it at full price.

Playing it now. Its good. I skipped out on the last two SC games but this is just as good as any of the better ones in the series. Well, somewhat less overall stealth tho, but thats understandable considering the story. The new mechanics flow nicely.

Great game. A must Buy.
