Becuase everything is it's polar opposite, and George Bush running the country doesn't help either.

Well, then maybe all we know is that we know nothing.

Then maybe we don't know that we know nothing...
Which is the same as knowing nothing.

The thing is, as long as we think we know nothing we may as well know nothing, because it has the same effect.

You can't know you know nothing. As soon as you know it negates the statement. This in my opinion is why we exist.

This is a classic example of why philosophy is at times, a waste of time.

Who ever said that we know nothing? Read Descartes "Meditations on First Philosophy" if you're interested in modern scepticism, you will find though that much more is known than what at first appears.

Very nice analogy there.

Actually, it was Mr_Mushrooms who said we know nothing. I think he said it in the thread by Adamist about science being mythology.
Perhaps I will take your advice about reading Descartes at a later time in my life when I do not find reading philosophy texts abhorrently boring. Thank you for your kind advice, though!
