Unemployed :(

So I'm unemployed (by my own choosing) and I've had some time to work on some projects. I actually choose to become unemployed to move from Washington, DC to Houston, TX with my long-time girlfriend.
Her parents live her and so we came down to try out a new city. So I'm VERY motivated to find a new job! Living with the future in-laws is exactly like you'd expect. Weird. Awkward. Tedious. Etc. So I've begun to put together a list of careers or jobs landing pages for companies and figured I'd share the list with any of you other shroomites who seem to be on hardtimes.
The list is geared towards Houston and will, if able, land you on positions in Houston, however it may be a good jumping point for some of you who don't know where to start. Additionally they are finance/accounting heavy and I want to break into oil and gas, so it's got a lot of them too.
Anyways, give the list a shot and let me know if you think of other companies to add. Just send me the link to the career landing page and the company name and I will add it! Additionally, I am continuing to update it (i just started about an hour ago and have about 25 companies so far!)

Best of luck!

I like Craigslist or Recruiters for jobs. Depends on the job type really. I'm not really into the big corporate sites like jobs.com or etc.
A good recruiter can typically always place you in a job or you can find one yourself on Craigslist typically.

I've been doing anything and everything to get my name and resume out there. However, Craigslist I've applied for a few positions and they've turned out to be scam marketing positions. Careerbuilder.com also leads to a lot of scam/spam calls and emails. So I think generally, it's better to apply directly.
I've been giving the headhunters a shot, but I'm not sure who the reputable one's are in Houston...

Just a quick bump.
I've added a lot more companies, so hopefully this will help some of you out there! It will be especially helpful for Texan Shroomites and more so for Houstonian and Austinian Shroomites!
Happy searching and lets hope this rising tide lifts all ships..

So,
I just wanted to share quickly that I've received some feedback from three companies.
Vinson & Elkins, LLP - a Houston Law Firm The Advisory Board Co - A healthcare consulting firm based in DC but the position is in Austin BP- obviously you know what they do (aside from polluting the gulf)
They were emails verifying that I am qualified and will hire from an HR person shortly. So hopefully, I'll be going on interviews next week! I guess I need a new suit, since all my suits are winter wool suits and that just won't fly in the summer in Houston.
Wish me luck!

Thank you Telsa.
@PostiveOutlook - That may well be the most short-sighted, uninformed and stupidest advice I have heard today and maybe this week. Why on earth would I risk jail and fines selling drugs? Additionally, the reason people further their education and skill sets is exactly the contrapositive of your advice. Additionally, you would benefit from good reasoning skills and informed risk assessment.
