Where to find mason jars??

I have searched Ebay, Wal-Mart, and other various department stores and have yet to find mason jars. For all the growers on this forum, where did you purchase your jars? I have heard pro's and con's about using the pint and quart size jars. Which ones would be good for a newbie?? Any help would be appreciated.

try hardware stores, and bigger supermarkets. Right now isn't really canning season so it will be a litte bit more difficult to obtain them. Come spring and summer, almost all grocery stores will begin to stock them.

dont buy online the shipping charges will kill you... just keep trying diffrent grocery or discount stores like a big lots or mcfrugals :smile:

Garden Ridge has both 1 pint jars and 1/2 pint jars, year round. Hope that helps.

ya know what i just did today, i was lookin through my house for no reason at all, and i found a candle in one of those jars
and the jar was a ball half pint widemouth jar, so i took out the candle and i have a jar =)
