Where is this cobweb coming from?
    #1272845 - 02/03/03 04:36 AM (21 years, 1 month ago)

I am having problems with getting cobweb mold after I birth my cakes. I am using the PF method and I use 10 Gallon Aquariums that I have used for about 2 years now. I keep the aqariums with the cakes in a small cabinet and spray them about 2 times a day. I have steralized everything including the aquariums which I soaked in a bleach bath before I used them and also soaked my spray bottle in bleach. I am getting pissed off at this shit. Any ideas on where its coming from?

Many variables to consider when isolating cause of a contam . Most likely though is you and or methods of prep ! CLEANLINESS IS NEXT TO MUSHINESS !
GOOD LUCK !
I recently had a war with cob web :frown: .............my cat jumped on counter when doing some G2G transfers , contams attacked me in jars , in compost , in case ( differnt times and stages of growth , but all from same time period of prepped materials ) I killed my cat :smirk: , all contams under check now !

FOR LEGAL REASONS .........I DID NOT HARM ANY ANIMALS IN THE MAKING OF THIS TRANSMISSION ! DOMINAR RYGEL IS FINE , JUST TOSSED OUTSIDE WHEN DOING LAB WORK !

Yea its cobweb, but why is it happening after I birth the jars? It is pure mycilum on the cakes while in the jars, Then it turnes a gray cobweb looking mold.

Cobweb thrives in stale air. Try fanning more frequently to help control it. Spray Lysol or equivalent in the air around your fruiting chamber before opening it.

you could try spraying a solution of H202 and water, even straight peroxide in parts if careful..haven't done it myself though  maybe someone here has...

I would have to agree with the other post saying that cob web mold doesn't like 50/50. Also, spraying water and peroxide solution works just don't go overboard with the peroxide

I'm not the most sterile person, but I spray everything with a H202 and H2O solution and no contams yet.
