SW Ontario Agrocybe pediades , Conocybe albipes , Panaeolina foenisecii

Panaeolina foenisecii:





Habitat: Found growing in lawn
Gills: Dark brown, Unattached
Stem: whitish to tan, fragile,
Cap: convex, sometimes conical, rings on cap seperating light brown from dark brown as they mature.
Spore print: Dark Brown
Bruising: No noticeable color changes from bruising.
Location: SW Ontario lawn 1 day after rainfall

Original Description:
Habitat: Found growing in lawn
Gills: Tan with visible orangish brown spores
Stem: White, fragile,
Cap: Conical, white tan
Spore print: orangish brown drying to brown
Bruising: No noticeable color changes from bruising.
Location: SW Ontario lawn 1 day after rainfall

Stem: Tan, fragile, hollow, breaking and splitting easily.
Cap: Convex, Tan, 1-3cm
Spore print: Dark Brown
Bruising: No noticeable color changes from bruising.
Location: SW Ontario lawn 1 day after rainfall

normal size: Less than 5cm
cap type: Convex to shield shaped
stem type: Ring on stem, Stem much longer than cap diameter
spore colour: Light to dark brown
habitat: Found in fields, lawns or on roadsides

Agrocybe pediades (Fr.) Fayod Cap 1-3cm across, convex; ochre-buff to darker brown when wet; smooth. Gills adnate, crowded; cream then rust-brown. Stem 20-50 X 2-3mm; pale buff; fibrillose. Odor not distinctive. Taste not distinctive. Spores truncate, 9-13 x 6.6-7.5µ. Deposit dark brown. Habitat grasslands, pastures. Common. Found in Europe and throughout North America. Season May June. Not edible.
Side Note: Had the Species flipped there for a bit. Fixed now

By the way, those spore prints are not even close to black.

I ment to type black/brown should have gone back and edited it. The prints were taken on regular white printer paper, need to pick up some stiffer cards in the future things got to moist. They printed darker almost black but upon looking at the prints now that they have dried a little its a dark brown. Thanks for the I.D tho have been looking at pictures and it seems like Agrocybe pediade.

#1 looks like Conocybe albipes.

After reading through that link I am pretty sure that is what it is. Thanks guys for the quick help, neither of these were in my field guide.

UPDATE!
Added a few more pictures of both Agrocybe pediades and Conocybe alpipes.
Also added an Unknown that I cannot find in my field guide...downfalls of getting a FG that covers edible species I guess lol not very good for LMB's and the like.

Does anyone know what the unknown is because those are growing like wildfire up here, all I find in yards and parks up here.

From your MushroomExpert link:  "Panaeolina foenesecii is a synonym [for Panaeolus foenisecii]; some mycologists separate Panaeolina from Panaeolus on the basis of roughened, rather than smooth, spores."

On one site it said they where poisonous, and on another it says inedible, does anyone know if they are poisonous or just inedible? because if it wont really harm you to eat them, I wont have to worry about my baby sisters eating them off the lawn, if they are poisonous, I want to pick em and throw em out as much as I can and maybe they will stop growing :P

I am not sure about toxicity, But I am pretty sure picking them will do no good. They are going to grow when and where they wanna grow regardless of what you do my friend.

They are not POISONOUS, so to speak, if they are Pan. Foes(paneoulous foenisecii) but there have been rare reports of psilocbian reactions:wink:
