Sclorch's "Dirty Fractal Edge"

I toss this term around enough... I figure I'd make a visual representation of just what the hell I'm talking about.
If a fractal is a determinist's view of the universe, then the following is mine:
And NO, the picture doesn't get any clearer than that.

Nice!
It gives me that awful, anxiously searching feeling I get when there's a barely audible blip in one of my songs and I CAN'T FOR THE LIFE OF ME FIX IT SO IT SOUNDS RIGHT AHHHHHHHHHH!

LucidDreams: Let me supply my fractal:
*yawn* Perfection and completeness are soooo boring. Comparing that fractal to my dirty fractal is like comparing the "knock knock" joke to Andy Kaufman's improvisational comedy. But hey... I'm sure cog-life has its perks...

Does this premise cause you personal difficuly my jaded friend? I liked your "dirty fractal". Can you describe it mathematicly? Have you calculated in a "negative fractal space" component to the original Mandlebrot progression?Or did you project micro-infinite scalar feilds into it?Quantum photoshop perhaps? So perhaps the fractal interpretation has some holes,so does the universe.I truly appreciated the non-verbal information I find it has the potential to carry so much more info in a shorter space.Excellent representation of the "holes" in fractal theory.;) WR

I assume the purple reprsents the first 3 or 4 dimensions, the yellow represents light moving through curved, empty space, the white: non-dimensional space (non-existence/void), and the black wormholes?

The underlying fractal has been overlayed with random chaotic events represented by the faint purple spray in the center fractal as randomly spaced areas of negation or lack of information disrupt the view of the fractals overall integrity. This unless the paintshop work is to represent part of the fractal depiction rather than an overlay. If the depiction is intended to be congruous then you are declaring the imperfection of fractal theory by incorporating random chaotic events/info with your alterations. The colors mean nothing... the shapes mean nothing... the overall picture is the only thing that means something. Fractal = Determinism THAT "Fractal" = Reality as I see it... full of fuzziness, missing spots, inconsistencies, uncertainty, unanswerable questions, limited perspective, randomness, etc....
Whiterasta... I think you got me.

When you said this is your view of the universe, it had me thinking your view of the physical universe, rather than your view of reality. Personally, i don't believe that there are truely inconsistencies, missing spots, uncertanities, or unanswerable questions. These are all relative to our three-dimensional world views. However, I will agree that reality works in a very random sense, with only swirls of fate.

how did you do that sclorch? id like to make a fractal, but i dont know the process you used. could you elaborate on that please?
the black spots almost look like the blips you see on a film reel, little blank spots in the overall frame. the white is like places where the film has melted and broken away.

Much of my difficulty communicating my thoughts stems from the fact that much of my thought process is non-verbal and must be converted to a verbal format to share with others.Your representation is a HUGE leap in future information transfer.IMHO we ARE reaching the limits of verbal expression and communication must begin to incorporate more non-verbal information to fully express some of the more esoteric and abstract concepts being formulated. Now to work on communicating more than broad concepts using sound and visual patterns.I have encountered this in my research into cannabinoid medicine. How best to describe a complex semi-chaotic action in flux which has aspects ill suited to verbal scientific description. I believe that language is like the first steps of communication and we are on the verge of advancing beyond verbal constraints and may be moving to a more aesthetic non-verbal form of communication with more potential for delivering information than can be mustered with the limited symbology of language. I really enjoyed your lil puzzle Sclorch, much more of the way I think than the verbal joust.Thanx WR
