Agaricus arvensis ?
    #12714803 - 06/09/10 12:35 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

Habitat:
Where does it grow? Lawn under tree, Belgium in the countryside.

Gills:
Dark brown/purple-ish, not attached to stem, dark brown/purple-ish spores.

Stem:
Length about 4", diameter about 1", color is white with yellow at base, fleshy texture with a narrow hollow.

Cap:
Diameter about 6", color is white and darkening a little at the edges (slightly pink also), spherical and almost flat (this is an older specimen).

Spore print color:
Dark brown/dark purple.

Bruising:
No real bruising but perhaps a little pink where the cap is cut and some yellow at the base.

Other information:
Smells lovely like normal Agaricus. It has a large ring like a skirt almost. I already took some parts of the cap for printing.

Growing in the lawn near a tree

Dark bown/purle gills

Skirt-like veil

Hollow stem (not eaten by maggots although the cap is

Overall idea of size

NOTE: This is not Agaricus xanthoderma i hope!

If it were xanthoderma, the yellow bruising would be apparent, just as the unpleasant smell. You seem to have an edible agaricus, possibly a. arvensis.
