What exactly is PeerBlock?
    #12714172 - 06/09/10 09:50 AM (13 years, 9 months ago)

So I was talking to a friend last night about torrenting and he called me a :tard: for not using peerblock.

What exactly is peerblock, and what does it do to protect your computer?

It is a blocker of peers that allows you block peers from peering.

Yes, it is. The shine stands for his job title, which is Shoe Shiner, the moon stands for the time he comes out to be a nigger, which is best suited for the negroid camouflage.

PeerBlock lets you control who your computer "talks to" on the Internet.  By selecting appropriate lists of "known bad" computers, you can block communication with advertising or spyware oriented servers, computers monitoring your p2p activities, computers which have been "hacked", even entire countries!  They can't get in to your computer, and your computer won't try to send them anything either.

I found it difficult to work with.  It blocked just about every single site that I went to.  I always gave it permission to open the site, so what's the point of having it?

Yeah, it blocks the shroomery. Useless.
Use it when you're downloading torrents or with p2p programs if you are extremely paranoid or live in the States. Then close it afterwords.

Oh okay. Wow how did I miss it before.

Yeah I suppose I'll give it a shot. It is fairly simplistic and I don't like the idea of random Ip's connecting to my network.
