wow.. dunking really works

yeah so i prepared up a casing of vermiculite on the bottom / crushed up cakes in the middle / then on top peat moss/verm. I didn't moistureize it too well so it ended up pretty dry and only ended up getting like 5 shrooms per casing.. i dunked it for 12 hours and let sit in a new batch of perlite/h2o mix and bam. couple days later i have about 20-30 little babies forming.. who'd of thought. i love the fungus

How did you go about dunking it after it had been put into a casing? Got any pics? What kinda casing did you do? 50/50 mix? Thank you.

i had a cake pan that was big enough for the casings i had.. i had mini aluminum foil casings that were about 8 inches by 8 inches.. filled the cake pan with water.. submerged the casing and covered with foil and let sit.. i'd take pictures but my camera is low quality wouldn't want you to strain the eyes. i used the 50/50 method but i really would like to look into coco fibers for better structure and more flushes. if i get another flush out of these current casings, i'm gonna flip. these guys will be more resilient that once thought.

Ive read that dunking after 1st flush helps greatly. I use the 60/40 coco coir/verm casing and compost or dung or straw. How do you dunk a casing? Just put it in a pan of water?

yeah thats how i did it .. filled the pan with tap water. put a little h2o2 and let sit in my refridgerator. how much do you pay for quanities of coco? i haven't researched anything about it yet

Im confused. So you had the casing, it did its first flush, then you soaked the whole casing in water and put it in the fridge? If this is correct and im not being dumb, dosent it make it all watery and stuff, or did you just put a pan of casing on top of a pan of water and let it get cold? Im confused about dunking casings. Thank you.

well.. my friend held the casing back with a couple spoons as i tilted its container to drain the water out after being submerged. the casing was relativetly sturdy. the casing dried out after being put in the terrarium.
