salvia soil newbie question

I went to the store to buy some potting supplies for my salvia cuttings today. The Grower's Guide gives three soil recipies, and I opted for the simplest one: 4 parts soil 2 parts peat moss 1 part vermiculite 1 part perlite After getting home, I noticed the soil I bought is "Potting Soil Plus." (Master Nursery brand) Now besides the immediate associations to Newspeak, I'm worried because it includes peat moss and perlite, among other things. It doesn't give ratios or anything though. So should I still mix everything together, or is this Soil Plus good enough on its own? The guy at the store said it should be fine if I just add a little perlite, but he also said salvias need lots of sunlight, so I'm not sure if I can trust that.
I bought 3 gallon plastic pots, that should be fine for at least a couple of months, right?
Thanks for your help everyone, -m

he was talking about other salvia's. Salvia Divinorum doesn't like direct sun. potting soil + will be fine, I use normal potting soil and my salvia's grow fine. as for the pots: pretty big:) I use much smaller ones, but if you have the space... with bigger pots they get bigger roots and can gert bigger I think. here's a link to my salvia pics: small pots, just potting soil. click here for the pics
