you may have a system problem. ive had things like that happen before, then i would replace teh burner and it would still not work. I formatted, upped to windows XP cuz of its extreme plug and play-ness, and it worked. but when my system got fucked again, it stopped. theres also a chance that for some reason your RAM is filling up too fast, such as extra applications, trying to do too much stuff at once, etc.. Does it ever give you any error messages, such as ...calibration area full, etc? I really cant suggest anything without playing with the system itself, but a format MIGHT work. by might, im suggesting no higher than 50% chance, and even that might be a super lucky position. sorry i cant be of more help, im not quite as good systems as i used to be.

Go into your BIOS and set that drive to use mode 2 or something like that. Thats what I had to do.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis

"I would rather be exposed to the inconveniencies attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it." - Thomas Jefferson
