DIY Nitrous Cracker?

I know this forum isn't really for drug-related stuff, but hey its the Shroomery, there's much weirder stuff around these parts anyway...
So, I was thinking about getting back into nitrous one last time. I stopped a couple years ago because I was getting these weird pains in my ears, but I think it was the pressure of the nitrous I was undergoing.
Anyway, I have modified a cream dispenser before, as shown in the photos below...

I was thinking of something smaller, like a pocket sized one you can use those large "boxer" balloons at the dollar store.
Any ideas? Can I build one myself or is it too complex for a commoner?

After some contemplation and internet research, I think I may have answered my own question....
I am going to try a CO2 paintball gun "Quick Changer" adapter. The CO2 chargers look just like the N20 ones. Not quite DIY, but definitelly retrofitting.
I will let ya know how it goes.

I believe most CO2 chargers are larger than N2O ones. I modified a small CO2 bike pump once, didn't work very well, I went back to the cream dispensers.

Good luck and be careful!

This is one I made ages ago:

All parts were bought from a hardware store for around $15.

Nice dude! Sweet photos too!
So, couple questions: how did you get the puncture pin inside the pipe fitting?
And second: How many parts are there total?
3rd: Does it adapter to a large ballon? Tube maybe?
lastly: some techincal ones: Whats the diameter of the brass fittings? And whats the black tape for?
I'll have to try this one out this weekend! The only bad thing is that the Isi(r) brand chargers are now "associate-get" only. They must be "cracking" down on the misuse of them, so they hid them from view. Only store people can get them now.
Thanks for the tips Akamatsu! Don't give me the blueprints: I wanna figure it out on my own.

Ideally, you need a drill press and a tap to create a thread for the puncture pin. You can get away with a hand drill and self tapping screw though.
This is better picture of a slightly different design that shows the parts:

I use it to fill balloons. All fittings are 1", which is a perfect fit for a bulb.
Interesting that they're cracking down on them where you live, they're sold over the counter at most convenience stores where I am. Let me know if you need any more info. I have a few spare from the last batch I made, so if you have any trouble I'd be happy to trade one.

a saddle valve could be adapted to make the piercing pin, just remove the clamp and find something it could be threaded into that would hold the nitrous cartridge

I think you'll have trouble finding one big enough, but it would be perfect for the job if the thread on the valve body was 1".

the standard 1/4 inch is fine, it's just a matter of adapting or finding other parts to suit the task

Whoa, Prisoner#1. Thats some innovation in the art of precision NO2 piercing! Damn!
And you would use the outlet on the valve to release the NO2. Very cool!
But the only downsides are the screws would take awhile to screw in, and you might accidentally pierce it while placing it. But, its an idea.
I like that piercing needle on the valve: its hollow right? If not, it won't work right. And if its not air-tight, there will be leaks around the tip of the needle.
But with enough modifying it could work.
Another good idea by P#1. ~ LogicaL Chaos ~

DIY compressed air container opener?
I dunno just sounds sketchy, that's a lot of pressure being released. Be careful not to make a NOS cartridge gun
I am open to any ideas but for christ sake be careful when building something like this.

Oh, no doubt! Gotta be careful!
Not only of the pressure, but of the frosty-cold temps the cartridge will make when it releases its gas. So cold, it could burn you're fingers!
I think the best one would be the first ones from Annon and Akamatsu, with the solid sides holding the charger in place. That pressure is not to be taken lightly! I love puns.
So yeah, I think I wanna try make my own, like Akamatsu's one. As long as its cheaper than the $40 for a name-brand ISi(r) one and its also safe to use, its worth it!

it doesnt have to be hollow, screw it in then unscrew it to release the gas, they're water tight so they have no problem sealing

so children in iran are building backyard nukes and you dont want anyone to blow themselves up with a cracker.... it's pretty safe really, there's versions of this device that are made of plastic, brass has an excellent holding strength, far more than that cartridge can produce

hey man don't give me shit im just saying to think before anyone does this. some people forget that they can get hurt. yeah it's not as bad as some of the things people do, but then again I don't think this is a thread for that.
aside from that, here is some design plans that popped up on a quick search: http://www.justsayn2o.com/nitrous.crackers.html
just some ideas to add. I like some of the ones you guys built better though.
cheers

Very true, my friend. Safety is important. These crackers can be dangerous, which is why I made this thread: to prevent bad ideas from flowing around for DIY crackers.
But I have to say, this logo is AWESOME! Check it out.

Its been a long time, but I got an update.
Ive decided that commercial-grade nitrous crackers are the best.
But what I am going to make is a nitrous bong by adapting a commercial-grade cracker to a glass bong thru its stem using vinyl tubing.
I believe it will work. The glass bong will act as a low-pressure vessel to make inhaling easier.

You did exactly what i want to. A mod that has a hose from my tank would mean i could covertly do nitrous in public. I love nitrous when tripping and i love doing it in public, ive done it on the subway in manhattan for example, I feel like that tube would give me way less looks then inhaling from my backpack.
Dont get me wrong i am very good at doing so as I walked around manhattan and did 3 cases of nitrous on LSD, it was a very unique experience. I would love to not have to worry about the whole face in back pack thing i have to do now, that would look like a camel pack
