Innoculated my jars on MLK's B-day, and I noticed germination rather quickly, but, the jars dont seem to be progressing as fastly as they germinated, I'm looking at the jars everyday, and there is definatly more growth then initial germination, but it doesnt seem to be going to quickly. Are my cakes ever going to finish?

there is a heating pad which is at 90 degrees 8 inches below in a lower drawer, the jars are in a box with an extra layer of cardboard under the box, I cant measure the temp of the inside of the box, there is 8 in of space, the bottom of the drawer, and extra layer of cardboard between the box, and the layer of towels which temperature is 90 ---------Martin Luther Kings Birthday--------------

Could be...maybe to many light is causing a kind of damage in the myc. just stop checking the jars for a few days and see what happen!!!!!

There could be so many reasons that you cakes aren't going as fast. You can't really see what is going on internally, maybe it is colonizing the middle of the cake. Hopefully, the jars aren't kept higher than 90 deg. like you paragraph might suggest. Remember, when colonizing heat is given off by the myc. and if the temp gets to high then they will die. I have learned that patience equals good crops

No the jars are not sealed Anno, I asked you if I should untape the innoc sites, and unscrew a tad, and you said yes . As far as my paragraph suggesting its above 90 degrees, it isn't, I know that much, I have a thermometer which reads 91 or so on the towel, they are 8 inches below in a drawer. There is a drawer bottom and an extra layer of cardboard between the box that holds the cakes, and the Towels covering the heat pad which reads around 91, I know its not above 90 because 90 is the lowest my thermometer reads, and it wont give a reading even on the bottom of the drawer the boxes are in.
