Yeah, I was thinking about a Gym hunt....Though your first flush is usually July-ish, right? All the summer mushrooms were fooled into thinking it was August by the high 80's temps and lack of rain.

Let us know how they taste.
I've found lots in the past but never felt too inclined to try them.

i just thought this- these woods i frequent are crazy - they feed me sooooo well - all within a football field size patch of woods - and ofcourse at dif times of yr - but i can find a few scattered grey morels , chicken of the woods, gymnopolis luteus, true active BLG's, a "unique gym" inbetween the two prev mentioned, and i find huge giant tufts of "hen of the woods" and this area has been splashed with some ovoid sporebottles too Soooo sooon - this will be my lil slice of heaven

And they taste just like chicken,in a mushroomy sort of way.I usually just clean em,roll em in some egg batter, flour, and fry them for a few minutes. They are good eatin.
