Of course, if he came up to me at a show he would certainly show some respect. I'm not used to people mocking my skills. And if they do, they can expect to get bitched out. And I wouldn't worry about not getting phone calls for work. Because anyone knows I'm a super nice guy and a fucking awesome guitarist. So if I got upset at someone at one time or other people are gonna think they deserved it. And if they saw me arguing with some prick they would back me up. That's my reputation.
once again, if you're such a "super nice guy and such a fucking awesome guiatarist" then maybe you should try and help people out. you are obviously not a very nice person if the first thing you reply to people asking for help is "give me money." If you were as you said, then you would be nice enough to use your super guitar skills to tab a bit of this out, which should only take you 5-10 minutes, since you're so great at guitar.
why would you even bother posting in this thread in the first place if you're not even going to attempt to contribute anything?

WTF! Of course I went there. This guy is just making such a big deal out of it. He's totally hung up on the fact. It's not a big deal. If you were serious about getting your tab done professionally I could have given you other proof that I'm super awesome. But apparently he just wants it for free and screw me. Whatever. I don't need to prove myself. Like I said, it's just a quick way to impress upon people that I might have some skills at guitar. In fact I normally don't even tell people I went there. The only accolades I need I get from people who witness me playing. At that point who cares where I went to school.

I posted the myspace in the original post. the guy does what I'd call drinking music. there's a good bit of other songs on there. his other projects are pretty great too.

Berklee ain't that great when it comes to music schools. They get some good players, but they also get a bunch of shitty ones.

If you're really such a dick when you're coming down off mushrooms, you really have issues.
If you think that music in any form whatsoever deserves monetary compensation regardless, then I suggest you find another career.
Go into the health and well being forum. How many people in there have degrees in psychology and psychiatry etc? A handful, at least. Do you see them giving people a fucking bill before they try to help them with their problems? This site is more or less based on helping people selflessly, without payment. It wouldn't be here if that wasn't the original agenda. It couldn't. You are basically the epitome of the type of person who should not be on here.
Anyone who loves music in the truest sense, would agree that music should be free. If you're making something you love, and you really love music, then making money from it is not even secondary. It's a fucking afterthought. Sure it's nice to make money, but the whole reason I have friends, which is something it seems you would have trouble maintaining, is because I care enough about people to do things for them without sticking my hand out, expecting. You can sit high on your little pile of cash that you've acquired by turning what is a labor of love to most, by cheapening it, robbing it of it's foundation, and turning it into just another transaction.
I'm not promoting anything, I just found out about this guy a few days ago from a friend in another band, and I dug it. I was having trouble picking out some of the guitar in the background and such, so I asked for help on here. I've never had anyone on this website flat out demand compensation before offering their help, and that was always one of the greatest things about this place. I sit and lament, if you are in fact the first of many, but I hold fast to hope that you are just a single greedy cunt in an otherwise large community of genuinely helpful people.

Good god dude, you are a raging shit head. No one is robbing you, you are ASKING for MONEY for something that others would do for free. It is a FACT that when intellectual copyright laws are removed, creativity flows more freely. Wouldn't you be aiding the thievery of Thayer Tavern's music by tabbing it out for reproduction anyway?
To the point: I don't give a fuck what they taught you at Berklee - just because you paid thousands of dollars to learn how to perpetuate the shitty dying industry that is the Clear Channel / RIAA lawsuit machine - has no effect on the fact that music IS free, as are all arts.

Music lessons and guitar tabs aren't exactly the same thing and you know it. I can't believe anyone would pay you (or anyone else) $50 bucks and hour to transcribe some songs.
I think I paid less that for hour long lessons from people with better credentials than you.

I'm an artist as well, but here's the weird part: I give my music away for free, and I sell it too! Guess what? Both work out for me.
