I've tried proxies and they slow down my browsing speed to a snail's pace. Not worth it in my opinion.

Proxies are setup to make you feel secure, but do you know who is really running them?
seems like a trick to me.

Anonymous said: TOR encrypts traffic between your computer and the TOR network, but it is decrypted before returning to normal internet routing. Any data not otherwise encrypted can be read by whoever is running the particular exit node, but your location and IP address remain anonymous.
With normal browsing, but especially when using TOR, it is important to only transmit your username and password over a secure (HTTPS) connection. This end-to-end encryption will keep your passwords safe.
The large number of TOR users makes it a much more anonymous way to browse the internet than most web proxies. Providing it is configured correctly, and you do not open any suspicious programs or websites, it is quite secure as well.
i could be wrong.
but in order to have the HTTPS doesnt that reveal your identity(i.p)? so if you want to surf anonymously you have to give up encryption on what sites you surf and such but probably not if you had a special email or an encryption on information going from a to b and no where else.
i could be wrong.

You are wrong. The whole point of creating the tor network was to enable completely anonymous internet usage. Nobody in the tor network can see your data except the exit node. Even the exit node has no idea who you are.

i agree that none of them will be able to know who you are by i.p and stuff thats automatic but im just saying they can see what you are doing through the tor network

Who cares? Why would someone waste the time to monitor some anonymous person? All the good stuff is going to be end-to-end encrypted anyways.
And as far as posting here... anyone can read what you post anyways so there's no advantage whatsoever to sniffing your traffic. All you'd be able to do is see the post a split second before it hits the board. Sure you might pick up a random PM now and again, but you'd have no way to target a specific person, or even follow the same person you'd picked up in the past.
Nobody is going to waste their time doing this.

It is not true. You won't be able to find any articles that say that.
The only tor node that can see your traffic is the exit node, and unless you send some traffic that gives away your identity the exit node won't know who you are.

That is correct however the exit node could modify the http traffic in such a way that it tricks your computer into leaking information. It is an advanced attack but in nearly all circumstances it could be made to work. Using the NoScipt browser plugin would thwart many of the easiest vectors, but it could still do something like introduce a buffer overflow to compromise your machine, likely via a malicious jpg, java program, browser vulnerability, adobe acrobat or macromedia flash player.

I would use a proxy if ordering spores/seeds online but not just for regular posts. If you need a proxy for that you're discussing something that you shouldn't be making public anyway imo.
