it's been a week since innoculation and NOTHING, is this bad or am i being impatient? The jars are stored at 80 F in a snake egg incubator. any tips for a speedy colonization or should i hold my horses? thanks.

Yea thats true, the more details you give about everything the more likely you can get a answer to your prob, but a week is a while for no signs, somethings not right with that but just wait it out

OK, i have 6 1/2 pint Ker tapered jars with BRF Vermic and water. i used the standard PF tek. uh, the spore race is the classic PF race. they were innoculated last friday, but a few days after innoculation they were eft at around 60 degrees F which might account for the slow growing, but last tuesday we got my friend's incubator and set it to an even 80 F which it has been at for the last 3 or 4 days. Do you think the coldness in the first days of innoculation contributed to the lack of growth? or maybe we did some thing wrong. we used about 1.5-2 cc per jar and they're all marked accordingly. any suggestions or do you need more info?

now that i think about it, the beginning temps might have gotten as low as 40-50 F. do you think that might have shocked the spores or something and maybe they're recuperating now, and will grow anytime soon (wishful thinking i think) oh well.

If they have been in the incubator for only 3-4 days, you have nothing to worry about. The cold temps didn't do anything to them, they just dont germinate as quickly.

I bet you'll see some very slight white spots starting in the next few days...

Yeah, also try to up your incubator temp to 85-87 F

really 85-87 F? other people have said that because the spores themselves generate heat during colonization 80-84 is fine.. i'll crank up hte heat a bit then.. anyway cool, i hope i did the rest of the operation right..
