why is it that one can't use manure in place of brf in the pf tek? i was just wondering about this.. i've never seen anything about it.

Spores don?t germinate easily on dung compared to brf.

i see. i feel an experiment coming on.
i doubt this would work but what if one put brf just near the innoc points and used dung everywhere else? in the jar?
ya think that might work or is there some obvious reason it would fail?

Hmm, straw and dung mix...And some verm to make it a bit more airy possibly?
Not really worth it though, casing would be eaiser and better.

not necessarily... my main attraction to this hobby is the fact that practical advances can be made by anyone on any given days. experimentation is k3y.

right but, this is so simple.. some one else must've thought of it.
i was thinking like maybe with mycelium in the jars instead, i know people do that.
i've got no way of pasteurizing but i can sterilize, i was gonna make a pf style jar except using manure instead of brf. then, verm layer on top and all i'll cook it and then just innoc with liq myc..
see how that goes..

you can use immersed hot water bath on the stovetop to pasturise. it's really quite easy and not at all messy once you get the hang of it.

I am doing this exact same thing right now. I am finding that the spores don't really stand a chance in the dung-straw mix. Maybe if you went from honey water to straw-dung it might work. hmmm. I might try that next.
