Hydrogen Peroxide

I use humidifiers with my set up and a friend of mine is going to use perlite which I hear works pretty good. He was wondering how much hydrogen peroxide per gallon of water should he mix before he adds it to the perlite to keep contams at bay?

as much as he wants to spend!!

I'd say at least an ounce per liter,, some will say more, some will say less.. i think you are better off using a bit less but adding some every few days.

hey pussycontrol, it does matter. definately, when pouring H2O2 on perlite, the more the better. :wink: it cant hurt (apart from your pocket) but it can help :wink:

Just dont think you can just keep adding H202 all the time to keep it clean. You have to replace the perlite and clean the terrarium every once in a while too.

I don't think that's necessary. I change the perlite after each individual grow...

Yeah, after each grow is good enough. Ive even went 3 grows without changing it, but thats only because hardly anything fell in the perlite. You can tell by smell if you need to change it.

Thanks to all for the help. I use humidifiers and wasn't to sure about the use of hydrogen peroxide and how often to change the perlite and didn't want to give the wrong info. :grin:
