Damn that's terrible. It happens man. I think that anyone who grows small Mexican cacti should adopt a 100% mineral soil. You can avoid so many problems like that. I have to lose any of my babies to rot.

My collection is largely small Mexican cacti - although a couple of the Astrophytum have grown pretty large over the last 15 years.
Many come from areas with plenty of naturally occurring limestone.

So my mix is very gritty and well draining, with a good proportion of lime. But there is a little loam, and a midgin of wormcasts - they seem to do well on it.

Do I have a nutrient issue with the yellow leaf? Too high or too low?

I focused the camera on the loph to keep the thread on topic haha jk, but seriously who wouldn't rather look at a loph rather than a damn yellow leaf.
cheers

Leaves falling off is like cannabis ending a life cycle. Well not peres though. They will throw all the good stuff to the scion. No worries buddy.

I've never figured out how exactly to stop it but it never really seems to matter much at all. Just a little slowed growth

I recently repotted a ton of mine using a mixture of Green Frog nutrient and myco soil, a lil regular soil, some very small peagravel (course sand) perlite.
I just wanna see how it grow unlike the other I used
