I saw this on Xbox LIVE Netflix, might have to check it out
-------------------- "There was a time when I could not find, the spirit of God BEYOND the mind. In retrospect the intellect is blind, it makes me think that I'm, the reason for all that's mine, even this rhyme I'm inclined to believe is from me, instead of being received. This is how we're deceived. How am I more than dust? when it's your love that animates us? Forever I will trust. Your love is better than lust. You. Live. Forever In Us." KRS ONE

Already watched it. Lakefingers posted it and had to endure the wrath of my dissatisfaction with such a tryhard / wannabe documentary , that really had little to offer.

Cornel West hit the nail on the head - Philosophy, self-examination, acts as a check for ideology, the state and other power structures.I agree with the first lady. Essentially, she was rehashing Sartre's idea that a lack of meaning, or transcendental values and ethics, puts the ball entirely in our court... it in a sense makes ethics even more important.
I'm not sure I agree with Peter Singer. My question to him is, "To what extent?" Perhaps this is a self-justification for the $50 speakers and $70 web cam I recently purchased, but without my computer, for example, I would have never heard of him or his ideas in the first place! Ok, I agree we should not be overly excessive in our materialism as most Americans are. I have a limited budget and really only buy myself crap once in a while. But my Mom cooks meat for dinner. I'm not going to turn down her food. I think we can all make small steps towards the ideal but he presents it in a way to incite guilt... I'm not sure I liked him vibes.
I really dig the Cosmopolitan ideas and identifying with a global citizenship. Open dialogue > intolerance. Purple coat lady felt the love which is possible.
West: "To Philosophize is to learn how to die."
Wasn't feeling boat revolutionary or crazy Russian garbage man... Skipped these parts after a few min.
Is that disabled person being interviewed by David Spade? I got bored with this one and skipped through.
Overall I give it a 6.5 out of 10... the first half probably a 7/10... I liked Waking Life more but this was still worth a glance.
