i find it hard to differ with this statement. can anybody help?

i dont think anyone can help you differ. the law of conservation of energy states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed. you are right... all the energy that will ever be in this world is here now. it may change forms, but no energy will ever be lost, and no new energy (except in the form of space debris) will ever be added to the earth.

The matter (body) returns to the Earth

That sounds something like what I like to believe. Collective soul/concious soul. We all are the same person ... dipping in the Oversoul ... the Pool of Soul ... Human Soul.

this makes me wonder... if all the energy is right here, right now, and the only additional energy would be from space debris or whatever, then what about the growth in population? 2000 years ago there wasn't as many people as there is now - granted we've taken lots from nature and what not, but is that it? Does a "lack of energy" account for the millions of diseases that weren't around at "the time of Christ" - is it natures way of returning us back to the earth? And how do you account for longer lifespans?

I'm not being fecicious (sp?) - I seriously wanna know peoples opinions on this.

We're also recieving massive amounts of energy in the form of light from a rather obvious source, so "space debris" isn't our only outside source.

i didnt read anyone's posts. i just read the initial post. and my idea on that is this. our soul is nothing but energy. everything that has energy to it contains this energy. the earth itself is full of it. it all comes from the same place, we'll call this place god. when you die, the energy flows back to god. at birth, it is again pulled away.

I've been playing around with a similar concept. I think that perhaps god is composed of the entire sum of energy throughout the universe, so we, I think, are essentially part of god. I don't think this god acts or really "does" anything. I think it just kind of is.
