You need to smoke some weed, lay off the pills or go to bed you worry way to much. I never though humidity could be so confusing. I just throw some perlite in there dump some water and turn on my good ole slow cooker and bam haha

i don't know the proper term for it but it is like a propagation delay. you said it yourself. the sensor takes 10 minutes to respond. your having it shut off at 95%. by the time the sensor reads 95% the humidity is actually higher. try having the sensor/switch cutoff at a lower level (experimentation will get the right results). Try having it cut off at like 85% and see what happens. heck, even my analog hygrometer has this delay effect to some degree. can your sensor/switch operate within a window? for example, turn on the humidifier when it reaches 80% and cutoff at 85%? if so, that would be the best way to go about it IMO.

>2) I'm only keeping the humidifier on for 10 seconds every minute.

I keep it on for 5 minutes every 2 hours.
