Mycobag
    #1262208 - 01/30/03 03:24 PM (13 years, 10 months ago)

I am trying to pinn a mycobag and its just not working. The strain is B+ and the bag is completly covered w/ mycelium, there are even bumps of mycelium on the top, like 3 or 4 of them, huge... white hills they look like, im not sure what they are, but they are definatly not pins. I just threw them in the fridge right now.. The reason I am mostly worried is the mycelium on top looks like a layer of dead mycelium I dont know if this can happen or not, but its not bruising or anything.. help?

Never fruited from a mycobag, but, I can tell you that you will probably get fruits no matter what. The dead mycelium on top would be overlay.... however, there is still active mycelium probably on the sides, which will be able to grow mushrooms.

Just sit tight man, youll be fine

I have used tons and tons of myco bags and every one of them have produced.
Here is what I do everytime-
1. Once bag is 90-100 complete, open bag and dunk for 10-24 hours. Where I live there isn't any humidity, so the cake needs the water.
2. Put about 2 inches of perlite in a container and put as much water in as the perlite will hold. Don't make the perlite soggy! It will create a mess from hell!
3. Make sure the temp is at least 76 deg. in the container and hum. somewhere in the high 80's mid 90's. You can get a gauge at wal mart for 4 dollars with both deg. and hum. on it.
4. Put a light on a timer for 12hours dark 12hours light
5. Wait......................................Wait............................ Be patient..............they will grow if you wait....
You want to check on them every 30 minutes, but be patient and wait.
I have found it usually takes about 5-10 days before you see any action.
Once you get your flush and all seems like it is complete, dunk again for 10-24 hours and in about three days more should pop up.
I usually get 2-5 flushes it just depends and what mother nature wants to give me.
Hope this helped.

sure you can still case! when you break it up (or even deep scratching as referenced on SOS) it will make the mycillium have to regrow, and the overlay is only on the surface.....

NO dont do that try to find some verm and if you cant find any use a differnt type of caseing's. their are plenty. just go to search and put the phrase "caseing" in the search youll find a ton of other caseing mixtures
