Bought it for 30 bucks ... maybe i got ripped off?
Read it ...
As far as prepping the spawn jar goes ... they only talked about quart jars and 1/2 gallon jars ... i'm using pints ... wide mouth pint ... anyone know the ratio that organic rye grass seed expands at?
how much should i put in each jar?
and how much water as well?
i've tried looking ... everything refers to quart jars and gallons ... i think that eventually i'll get some and use the pints as the grain masters.

not really, maybe a little over priced but the thing is worth it's weight in gold.
good, read it again, then again, then again. i think I've read it over a hundred times. next get GMM by stamets. it's like... the sequel.

i was about to buy it a few weeks ago when i was in the beautiful Amsterdam but it costed 65 euros/dollars int he smartshops so i didint buy it

no man, it's not a rip.
i got a copy as a christmas gift and just read it about two weeks ago. i must say that i benifited from much of it.
you must keep in mind that the book is primarily aimed at medium/largish scale home cultivation, not realy for personal/small scale cultivation.
it is a great resource that gives you a starting point for things like agar work, strain selection/refinement, and home production of mushroom compst (a thing that becomes preferable to going through large amounts of over-priced comercial product.)

not to mention it informs you of how mushies actually reproduce and all about the life cycle. it breaks down different contaminants. it has a beautiful chapter on casing. has breakdowns of the nutritional value of different substrates. has all kinds of important #'s such as optimal temps (the source of the often posted temperature/growth curve), substrate to casing depth ratios, spawn to substarte ratios, recipes, etc. etc. etc. get the damn book. while somewhat dated it still holds the title as the bible of mush cult. period. i doubt any reference will ever top it. if anything it needs a new edition with a few new chapters.

Yeah he needs to make a new edition.
To fix all his mistakes that are in it.
He knows he made some mistakes and has never corrected them.
