Can my jars recover?
    #1261502 - 01/30/03 11:00 AM (15 years, 2 months ago)

Ive recently discovered that the thermometer i was using is way off and when I purchased one that properly works I realized that the temp was at 89-90 degrees, I checked to see if the thermometer worked after the growth i was getting spread verylittle after a week and then ceased. I have since corrected the temp and is not around 80 degrees. My qestion is will the jars be able to recover and start growing yet? They each have between 15-45% colonization and the jars still seem to have mositure in them. I am growing with the GT strain and am heating with an aqauirium heating pad if that helps. Any input woul dbe appreciated
Peace

I did the same thing when I first built my incubator. My temps went up to around 100 degrees for almost 2 whole days before I caught it. My jars recovered fine except for 2 of them that I believe I innoculated before they were fully cool (they were the last pair I had made PF style, kinda rushed things).

They should be fine, although probably temporarily stunted for a day or two.

Good luck !
