I don't think #1 is Pluteus cervinus. I think it's Megacollybia platyphylla. If it is you'll probably not want to eat it.Take a spore print to be sure. I'm betting it'll be white. #3 might be the same thing.

Yes, I see a faint pinkish tone in the gills. You may well be right, KBG. They're hard to tell apart sometimes especially in a pic. A spore print is better safe than sorry if you plan on eating them. I usually collect and spore print a species a few times before trying to eat it.

Nah. If it's white you'll still be able to see it if you hold it at an angle in good light. If it isn't white, it'll be obvious. You're choice though...

Yup, Pluteus.Just like I said...

Seriously though, good eye KBG. I should have known better. Besides the pinkish cast the gills don't look right for M. platyphylla. I've seen enlarged stem bases on that species before, but never on P. cervinus. I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn even if I look like a dumb-ass while doing it! And I definitely feel better that you spore printed these mushrooms before attempting to eat them.
