hello, i have about 11 qt jars, im on about 6 in pressure cooking them; prior to pc'n them they were at a good moisture level, after i take them out of the pc they are dramatically more moist inside an d water settles to the bottom of the jar even after shaking? is this ok?
thanks

What type of spawn is it? What type of jar prep are you using? how much water and what type of PC are you using? etc...

the jars have polyfil, and coffee filters over the top.. i don't want to pc anymore til i find out why they become so overly moist inside, when they were washed and strained they were strained well.

Are you using polyfil, porous tape, tyvek, or what on your lids. If using other than polyfil, are you rubberbanding aluminum foil around the lid? Also, you soak, THEN boil.

Yea,if wbs is too wet is is bunk,I have so so results with wbs,I like rye allot better,If you can spare the jars and have an LC you could always experiment and knock them up anyway but they are more than likely done for,O and try tyvek and ditch the polyfill,once I switched to tyvek I have never looked at polyfill again

Don't boil and cook your grains. SIMMER.

I prefer polyfil over tyvek personally, but to each his own. I dont have to cover my jars during pc'ing, and tyvek can let contams in if moist and contact with substrate or spawn occurs.

generally do it an hour at 15psi, if you do it too long(substrate darkens) then youre essentially burning it. 1.5hours is enough for almost everything related to fungi cultivation. ive had wet jars, i just dump it and mix new

if theres any pooling water in jars, scrap em an start again, not worth the faliure!.
for foolproof sucess try;
1.soak WBS 12-24 hours (water- mild cofee water- watever works)
2. rinse a few times remove dust, bring to boil simmer 10 mins.
3.strain into a few colanders depending how much WBS you have.
4. VITAL STEP let WBS steam and STIR every ten minutes fopr about 30 -45 mins. this will get your WBS perfect moisture content every time.
5. final hand test take a handful, itf hardlet any stciks to your paw your good to go.
This aint my method, was probably RR's but its never failed me yet.
good luck and happy fiddling..
