They met me with aggression love aggression love hunger aggression and maybe they just plain.
Trusted the sugar water.
Man.
And.
When I held the feeder and four Hummers came to feed caring.
Not.
About.
My.
Hand.
On.
The.
Feeder.
well OK this could have been more detailed but trust me folks if you could have felt the wind from a hummingbirds wings like i have and looked those little guys straight into their souls
you would know
like i do
no not my yard but not too far off
you get the idea

I love little critters.
I was taking a walk the other day and came across a caterpillar crossing the sidewalk and when I came up to him he immediately stopped. I sat down in the grass and watched him for a good 5 minutes and then he began moving again.

Your post made no sense but that video was awesome! I've only seen hummingbirds a few times but it's always a mindblowing experience.

Man you guys would really love hummingbirds buzzing around your face if you are that in tune and amused by caterpillars. OK wooly bears are cute but I would be afraid to pick one up.
But hummers they fly fast and close to your face if you let them. I haven't had one stick into my eye (yet).
This guy hit the Hummer Mother Lode...

Now imagine going up and putting your hand under one of those feeders. They don't care as long as you stand still. Then you really experience them in a different way, you are interacting.

I once saw a documentary about the peregrine falcon. It kills its prey by breaking their neck at high velocities.

A lizard and I were checking each other out through a window the other day. I was alone in my parents' house tending to their dogs' needs while they were away at work and noticed a lizard sitting on the outside of the glass.
I came up to him and he was afraid at first, not understanding the barrier between him and I. Slowly he got adjusted to my presence and possibly understood that I could not touch him - I was sliding a finger slowly towards him and backwards to indicate I was on the other side of something.
Eventually I sat on the windowsill and got to see the details of the lizard. Its scales, the ones that are colored red underneath the white on the neck that it puffs out to expose them. We even made eye contact, although I'm not too sure if he could quite see me or a reflection off the glass.
I'd move away thinking I was bothering him only to glace back and see him poking his head up and moving it around, as if looking for me.
It was a very interesting experience. When I use to live there I'd smoke weed outside and these lizards would come by every now and then. I tried smoking one out before (not interested in the "omg how dare you do that to an animal" comments, I didn't force it into a cage and force it to breathe smoke. I breathed the smoke in its general direction, outside.) only to have it, or the same type, of lizard frequently revisit the patio where I smoked.
I believe the lizards I am referring to is a green anole. They're quite common around here, as are the brown ones.
Little critters are definitely very interesting.

Lizards are trippy, they keep an eye on you.
