Enjoy it while you can! It slowly (possibly quickly) goes downhill from there.

When I was prescribed them, the recreational effects faded rather quickly, but the anti-anxiety effects still remained. One hell of a drug to get off of though >.<

When I was in India I bought a bunch of valium from a pharmacy-- to help with the cramped bus rides-- but I took a whole bunch and never felt any effect.
What are they even supposed to do-- relax you and make you feel calm?
I've always been a very relaxed person.. so maybe I am immune.

Usualy when u stop using benzos you have rebound effects. So everything nice it did for you it does the opposite. Anxiety. Restless legs. Bad sleep and over all uncomfortable feeling.
Benzos are best avoided for medical uses I feel

i struggled so much to get off valium when i was taking it regularly (i didnt feel normal again until nine months of not using) - it's a bad road to go down.
once in a while is cool but it's hard to limit yourself when you have a lot around.

They really help with my anxiety and muscle spasms but addiction isnt worth it IMO. Although I have medical need I choose to go without. Just as I am a chronic back pain sufferer and choose to go without opiates.
I also only do them every once in a blue moon.

I've been on them for years for legitimate anxiety issues. Without the drugs my thoughts run rampant and I find myself stuck in vicious thought loops. Whole days and conversations continually replay in my head while I constantly analyze and reanalyze until I turn everything around into something negative.
Few months on ativan didn't work, switched to xanax and was good for quite a while. Have a cousin that took klonopin for anxiety issues, said it worked great. I asked if I could give it a try. I spent 2 years on that, started noticing my erections weren't quite what they used to be. Did some reading and found that can be a side effect from long term use. The dosage I was on also was not working as well anymore.
I asked the Doc to switch me back to the xanax as I had never had that type of problem while on them. After 3 weeks I noticed that the ed was better however the xanax was really bringing me down. Down to the point of more or less being a zombie and not giving a shit if I was alive or not.
Maybe it wasn't the xanax bringing me down but withdrawal from the klonopin. Same class of drug so I figured there wouldn't be any withdrawal. At any rate I'm back on a higher dose of the klonopin now. Fear I will be stuck living the rest of my life on it with an ever increasing dose.
I can say that for 2 weeks or so after an intense level 5 mushroom trip I notice my anxiety is nearly non existent. I'm calm and relaxed. 1000s of thoughts don't run rampant through my head. I am more easily able to focus and rationalize things in an intelligent manner. Where as without anything I believe my emotions control my thinking more then my intellect and due to that everything is twisted and blown out of proportion. Unfortunate they are illegal, but they are so instead I am stuck with a drug that has possibly harmful effects and withdrawals that could kill me.

Im wondering if beta blockers like propanolol would work for that.
I also find it is much more rewarding to confront my anxiety head on than to avoid it or try to kill it away. Unfortunately sometimes there is no victory without a battle and I think to use such a crutch in the long run would make it worse.

Nah, you probably just got low quality or bunk shit, since it was India and doesn't have same regulations as the stuff over here.

Yeah man; seriously be careful. Some of the bunk medicine over there has lead in it or worse, much like the bunk medicine from China. It could cause serious harm.

i take propanolol sometimes when i have to give presentations or even before dates and important events. it lowers blood pressure and decreases your body's natural instinct of producing a lot of adrenaline when you get nervous.
worth a try.

I passed them out to friends, who claimed effects-- but yea I wouldn't be surprised if they were fake.
I spent most of my time with ayurvedic doctors after a pharmacist tried to sell me drugs that were clearly labeled carcinogenic.

I have 28 Diazepam pills that are just sitting there. I only use them when I really need them.
The weird thing is that I need a high dose (20mg) for them to work. 10mg does pretty much nothing. That's why I take them sporadically.
