Tazers won't last very long if they are used continuously. At least the cheaper ones.

yea except aluminum dust is the last thing I would want in the air or on my cakes

You ever been tazed before? Trust me it's not fun. And if it's touching you while activated long enough it can/will leave burn marks. That tells me that all you're going to do is burn the shit out of your mycellium.
And also Be kind to your mushroom friends, they'll thank you in the long run.

Do it. I want to see some results.
Maybe use a small battery and wire it up to a cake?

Hmm I have a tesla coil at home. Maybe when I go there this summer I can test this out. I can dial it back to between the 50-100k volts mentioned in the article Numinosum referred to (here). I just need a way to close the circuit for only one ten millionth of a second. Also, I suppose I would just place the grounding electrode in the substrate, and bring the tub close enough to the secondary coil for a spark to jump? What if I added some sort of metal conducting plate to the side of the tub?
This sounds like it would end up in a bunch of burnt mycelium, but if I could somehow get a working experiment set up I'd totally be down to try it.

the tazer idea WILL NOT WORK, you obviously think a tazer amperage and voltage is equal to lightning..tazer amp=1 volts=100k(higher voltage) now look up lightning..
