Hey MOE,

I'm shipping to Basic March 4 for the Coast Guard for a 4 year tour. I'm taking small craft (the lil boats that skim the waves, not any larger cutters) in the Search and Rescue program. I'll be training as Damage Controlman.

Do you have any idea if I can expect (or if it's possible) to be shipped out?

I'm not afraid either way, but rumor has been flying that they are sending CG out there...

I well remember the gulf war (I was unemployed then and recorded it all on VHS! - lol).... What I liked the most about it was all of the good hash and opium that poored into the states during the war :smile:

A couple months after the gulf war, most of hash and opium that my friends could score disapeared....

hmm.... could this be a war over HASH OIL? ..not oil...I have to wonder... :smirk:

Inactive ready reserve sucks (( finished my 8yrs))...good luck in avoiding reinstatement... stay alert and stay alive.

IMO he just wanted to avoid a deployment....Un missions get u extra pay, extra leave, booze ... all sorts of perks. Peace

Spc Michael New was dishonorably discharged for rufusing to fight as a UN peace keeper, T was willing to fight as a US Soldier but aparently if you ARE a us soldier you dont have the option of being one....
