A question involving Iraq
    #1258839 - 01/29/03 01:44 PM (13 years, 10 months ago)

Now I know a lot of people are against a war with Iraq and all. BUT WHAT IF, when those troops go in and yada yada yada yada. They do find a shitload of weapons that Suddam has been hiding or even Suddam decides to use chem weapons against opposing troops.

What would you think then?

Curious,
Cracka_X

I'd think there are other ways of solving things like that besides war.

I'd probably laugh at the TV, saying something like "HAH! serves those dumb bastards right!".

If you are afraid of that happening, then dont go to war against Iraq. Simple logic!

You should treat cancer only when you have it, not before.

We asked for it.

That brings an intriguing question to mind. If the Pentagon folks really believe that Iraq does have chemical & bioweapons, intends to use them, and is capable of doing so effectively; would they be so eager to send large numbers of American ground troops into the region?

Saddam cannot win this war so his goal will be to maximize American casualties, with bullets, rockets, mines, sharp sticks, whatever. That's a given. ( Actually, he will give us the choice of sacrificing scores of American troops or thousands of Iraqi civilians, and we will choose the latter. )
But I think if the govt. really expected our soldiers to get poisoned or diseased en masse; they'd be at least a bit more restrained in their enthusiasm. It would look bad on CNN.

Fact; borne out by history: the U.S. government lies to its people. And historically it tends to lie more in times of war, in the interests of National Security and the Greater Good.

The official story- We know Iraq has WMD so we must attack now before they use them.
My guess?- they know Iraq doesn't have any WMD now, but they've probably been working on it ever since Bush started threatening them with "regime change"; so we must attack now while the attackin's good.

This is a wild guess, a conjecture, I have no evidence to back it up and I'm not willing to argue the point. If it's true, the truth will come out 20 or 30 years from now when most parties concerned are dead, along with all the other dirty under-the-table goings-on we're up to at this point in time...

( Ever notice how, looking back, this country has had the most scandalous conspiracies and the shadiest of ulterior motives in our foreign policy throughout most of its history- except the immediate present, where our cause is pure humanitarianism vs. the forces of Evil Itself? And hasn't it been that way as long as you can remember? I'm not making any accusations, mind you. I'm just saying.)

It is estimated that about 500000 Iraquis will die in the war.
I cannot think of any good reason to kill 500000 people.

I think it was planned for this to happen. Bush started saying "oh yeah they've got weapons... they've definitely got weapons, and they're evil fucking scumbags and we need to wipe them out immediately in the name of universal freedom!!" PUBLICLY, letting Iraq hear everything he had to say. This certainly pissed 'em off, and they're probably making weapons as we speak because of all this trash-talk Bush has tossed their way these past months, because it has sounded for months now like Bush wants to attack, and why wouldn't they want weapons to strike back with?

Its like you're walking down the street and you see some guy who you've gotten in a fight with in the past, and you try to just walk by, but he goes "hey what the fuck's your problem you evil prick?! hey! hey fuck you!" This will certainly curl your fingers into a fist, ya know?

For one, it isn't like we will send the troops right in. The battlefield will be sufficiantly sofened via an air campain first. Most likely the Iraq army will be mostly a shambles by the time troops actualy go in. Realy, it wouldn't work out very well for the administration if we took masive casualties would it. And as you all say this Bushes "agenda" so that would be counter productive.

and Two, show me a gov. that doesn't lie, and I'll show you a figment of your imagination.

And if they don't have anything, they sure are telling some tall tails with the "make sep.11 look like a picknick" crap. I mean they would have to be pretty stupid to think they could bluff us into submission. Then it follows that if the regime is that stupid, they have no business with WMD or a hugh slice of the worlds oil supply. That would be like putting a retard in charge of the nations power grid.

But you think they believe their own september 11 threat? Like you say, their lying. And intelligence has nothing to do with national soveriengty of resources anyways.

The free market is a retard when it comes to power grids. It's in control of power grids all over the damn place. Not that that's relevant here...

well the best question ever asked, was by a shitty man, right hand of Hussein's:

Who the hell baptized Bush leader of the world?

Well, imho, the Empire (that is the US) will conquer the whole world. Now he wants the Iraq oil, because there are cheap to extract and because Iraq was/is a supplier of oil to europe. Europe must by any means be TOTALLY controlled by the Empire.

So, Pinochet was a fuckin dictator, but the Empire didnt hurt him. Hussein is a fuckin dictator, so iraq innocent people must die. Fuck me. I dont think we should even discuss about it. Its so fuckin obvious that BULLSHIT TALKING is all over Bush's forehead.

THE EMPIRE WILL FALL, FROM INSIDE. >>> THANK GOD, SEATTLE IS ALWAYS ALIVE AND KICKING...

If being stupid costs you your country it does. As the intelligent person you are, what would you have done in his possition? I mean starting beforeDesert Storm. Would you do everything you could to inferiate the badest man in the valley, or would you smile and wave then go about your dirty business. The guy has done everthing he could to court and ass kickin. he's like one of those tiny dogs that barks and barks. The ones you want to stomp on.

On the other hand, maybe he is verry intelligent and is just insane. And that is no better to have at the controlls of a WMD.
