ready to do agar work on this later, but it just doesn't look right. am i going to be able to isolate this?
this doesn't seriously have black mycellium...

I was looking at this elsewhere today, its very interesting. Omphalotus nidiformis if it's what im thinking of. Black? no. everything I know about it says it should have white to brownish orange mycelium.

Definitely not O. nidiformis. I recently cloned a few wild specimens and the mycelium is thick white and velvety.

I was told it was clean but then again I know squat about it.

I asked the person who I received this dish from (b4 I traded it to you) whats up with it and this is what he said;

I've seen pictures of a someone growing these on straw bales for halloween. Or maybe I hallucinated that, either way those mushrooms look fantastic
