Repeat cycle timer comparison
    #12582011 - 05/17/10 09:23 PM (14 years, 8 months ago)

I was in the market for a repeat cycle timer, and did some research on several models, so I thought I would post my findings here for reference.

I tried the IGS-011 initially, which is a bare bones cycle timer, and it works fine, but for less money, you can get the Encore or the CAP, which are essentially equivalent. However, I returned mine in favor of a Sentinel DRT-1, which, for the money, blows the others away. It has a digital numeric display which counts down (in seconds) the on and off times, and has a built-in circuit breaker. It also has 2 built-in outlets. It is a bit larger than the other devices. It has a supplied mounting bracket. It can also function in up to 99% humidity (not relevant to me, as I keep mine outside of the greenhouse). The product is A-1 quality, and the company has a whole range of other products for controlling things like humidity, temperature, and CO2. I spoke with their rep, and he claims they are in the process of designing a commercial mushroom environmental controller, as well. (No, I have no financial or other interest in any of these companies or their products)

You can find these timers by searching for their model #'s on Google. Most of these devices are carried by greenhouse supply or hydroponics companies.

Hopefully, this info will be helpful to someone else.
