Placed my casing in a new shotgun FC. Should I mist?

Hello! As the title say, I've done a new shotgun terrarium and put my casing in there. I was wondering if should I mist it to raise the RH, or just wait 'till pinning starts..
I also need to fan it 2/3 times a day before pinning?
PS: I read somewhere that adding the same perlite of cake birthing will result in overlay due too much humidity. Is this true? Do I have to remove a little bit of it?

Misting isn't really to raise the humidity, not directly at least. It hydrates the cake/tray and the perlite. The perlite is what provides the humidity, due to the evaporation of the moisture on the perlite.
Go ahead and start misting and fanning 3-5x a day.

thank you! I know that humidity is provided by perlite, but I thought that fresh-made shotgun terrarium need an initial humidity boost (maybe made with misting )
Quick question: mist and then fan or it's the same?

Mist then fan.

The above is correct. When you mist then fan. But you don't always have to mist your casings. Only mist them accordingly(Like if they look dry). I think what your asking is if fanning will increase your RH inside your SGFC?? If so, then yes, misting alone on the perlite will create some humidity, but fanning after a good misting will increase air currents up through the holes in ur SGFC,through the perlite, which then evaporates some of the water on the surface of ur perlite, thus creating higher RH.
P.S. Also fanning keeps them bastard contams at bay
