Coir from pet smart?

Hello everyone, just had a quick question about where i should buy my coir. I will be spawning brf cakes to 50/50 coir verm, have everything ready besides the coir. I did a quick search on a local pet store, got nothing, then went to the petsmart site and simply searched "coir" in the search bar and it came up with this. http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2752434
Is anyone familiar with this reptile bedding? Should i just go down there and look at the ingredients of bags and see if they have coir in them? Is there any specifics i should be looking for as well? (ex, coir ratio in the bag, any substrate additives i should stay away from) Thanks for any help or opinions Theres a Lowes by my house also, maybe i can check there for a brick?

I buy the ones that come in bricks... I think coconut bark is different from coco husk fiber. I might be wrong but I would look at petco or petsmart again because last time I was in either one they had the eco-earth bricks, which is what I would recommend.

I work at Petsmart. It should be in a orange package and should say reptile bedding. That's the one you are looking for. Do not get the husk as this will not hydrate properly

Thank you for the quick help everyone! Leggomygreggo, are you talking about a pre fluffed bag? or a brick. I am looking for Coconut fiber, not coconut husk, correct? I did more searches on line, found the brick of eco earth at petco, but only the pre fluffed bag at petsmart. Both are local though, so this should be my last question before thanking everyone :]

you want the compressed brick of fiber not chuncks of husk so the brick of eco earth is the way to go. one brick mixed with 5qts spawn and 5 qts of verm should fill an 18 gallon tub i think.

You definitely want the fiber, not the husk. I have only ever bought coir fiber in compressed brick form.

Spongiform listed the two that you would want to get.Just make sure you call petsmart ahead of time to make sure they carry it in stores (which I know for a fact that they do)....you would be surprised at how many items listed on a stores website aren't actually sold in stores...
Take Walmart for example...
They supposedly only sell the Presto 23 quart PC online and not in stores (this is true,at least where I live). The Walmart website also says that the Ball 1 quart wide mouth canning jars are only sold online and that they cost $17.98 before shipping...well my friends that is total bullshit. The other day while in Walmart searching for a new vacuum cleaner I stopped and saw a 12 pack of Ball 1 quart wide mouth canning jars...$10.99 before taxes.....so why the hell does it cost more (without tax and shipping added) online then in the store...they would have made an extra $8 had I ordered them online!

3 pack for $6.99 and $5.99 unlimited shipping. google 'coupon codes for drsfostersmith' and you'll find a $5 off any order of $40 or more so essentially shipping is free. It's a safe site.

Petsmart sells a kind called "Tropical soil" that worked fine for me. 3 bux for 8 quarts bricked. I wouldnt use that bark stuff as it looks very coarse. Typically coir is shredded and kinda fluffy. Add some verm to fluff it up even more. Mushies like fluff
