How to Prepare 50/50+

So I took a look at this: http://www.shroomery.org/54/50-50-Casing-Tek#5050plus and realized the recipe is for a lot more casing mix then I actually need for the time being. Who the fuck knows how to measure 4%?!
How does everyone else make this mix? When measuring out peat, do you compact the peat in a cup, or leave it really loose. A compacted cup is a lot more material than a cup of loose peat.
How about a recipe that includes oyster shell and calcium carbonate (do these things substitute gypsum?) that starts off with a measurement of 2 or 4 cups of peat.
Please give me a modified recipe.

4% = 1/25

you take the original amount needed and multiply it by 0.04 to get 4 % of the suggested value
example
2 quarts peat x 0.04 = 0.08 quarts peat or 4% of 2 quarts

And 2 quarts = 8 cups, so 8 x 0.08 = 0.64 cups. About 2/3 cup.

And 2 quarts = 8 cups, so 8 x 0.08 = 0.64 cups. About 2/3 cup.
lol thats 8%
8 cups, so 8 x 0.04 = 0.32 cups

4%= Amount of patience I have left after reading those responses.
What I really need is a quick and easy tek that just says something like mix a 6 cups of packed (not loose) peat with 6 cups of vermiculite with 1 cup crushed oyster shell with 1/3 cup of calcium carbonate. Something like that. Where can I get calcium carbonate?

Dude, you can't be serious, this is grade 8 math.. I don't mean to offend you but if you can't figure this out..
But I honestly Eyeballed a bulk sub yesterday, and it came out perfect..
You can get gypsum at gardening stores. Or you can bust up non anti-fungicidal drywall, and remove the paper.
Your call..

They do different things for the sub, lime will help bring the ph back up , especially when using coffee, prevents contams by doing so... Gypsum is just overall good for mushroom growth, and health..
So no one cannot be substituted for the other, but they can be used in conjunction..

No, never use dolomite when growing hallucinogenic mushrooms, or non hallucinogenic mushrooms for a matter of fact.
