The blue is fairly normal when the substrate begins to dry out, but the long stems indicate lack of fresh air. You should be exchanging air at least four to five times per HOUR, not three times per day. The tiny caps indicate you're providing insufficient lighting. If you'd provide bright light in the daylight spectrum, you'd have thicker stems and much meatier caps. RR

@RR
fanning four-five times per hour even in a shotgun? or you mean, that's the ideal amount for a closed grow space?
also, don't mean to hijack, but, if i have a shotgun that's exposed to indirect sunlight through holes in the top of the shotgun and through the clear sides, is that still less than optimal? i have a 9W 10,000k compact fluorescent light, but i'm thinking that's probably too blue. input?

i believe i read that your color range should be in the 6500k range, so yeah, 10000k is probably too blue.

thanks,
if i use a ~6500k CF light in addition to indirect sunlight, will there be substantially better fruits than if i use sunlight alone?

Unless it's very bright indirect sunlight, adding the CFL is going to help. Bright light is always better than dim light, and remember that 80 percent of the light entering a terrarium comes from the sides, with only 20% from above. Place the CFL or window to one side rather than directly above.
By four to five air exchanges per hour, I meant that's what cubensis needs to pin properly. You get pretty close to that with a shotgun terrarium in an open room if it's elevated on blocks so the air can enter from the bottom. RR
