Cutting out trich... success stories?

So Im trying to get something going before roo for me and a few of my buddies but I keep getting the mean green in my casing trays. I was wondering if you can still successfully fruit a tray without it getting ruined after cutting out this shit. I can easily see and feel which parts are colonized, the coir sticks together pretty solidly and the parts with mean green on the top of them are loose and break apart when touched practically. I was wondering if/how you could save these trays and if you managed to get anything out of em. This is my second round of trays the first fell to some trich and also the first flush that had an awesome pinset were horribly mutated - think inside out baby. Looking for some advice/success stories/good vibes.
Also Ive been disposing my trays outside underground, every couple of weeks i will go out and the mycelium will still be there, the ground is soft and if i scratch a lil there is nice white. I live in the northeast, so it is still chilly but when should i be expecting these things to pop, all i did was bury them under green grass in my yard where ive seen wild mushies in the past. Also what are some methods of increasing the probability that these outdoors will pop.

Salt works to slow it down, make a thick salt place and put it on all the visible patches of trich mycelium. It may help slow it down until you get your flush.
As for cutting it out, the times when i have had to, i had to be very very aggressive and remove a lot of healthy cubensis tissue at the same time. It will come back, so i would say your best bet for flushes would be to find an appropriate place outside and place them there and let nature do its trick.
I should warn you though, Rats, Possums etc, all like eating HPOO/WBS cakes full of myc T_T

Well you can make it if you have some pins you might have a chance. I got some shrooms of one of the straw tubs that had trech by cutting it out and salting the ever loving shit out of the area. Eventually the trech came back but I got about 120 grams off before it finely took a shit about 5 days after treatment with salt.
I would recommend doing some trays with just verm casing over rye grain for a backup while you figure out the contam problem with your coir.
you might try this method http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/11916595/fpart/1/vc/1 this is what I am working on next just cant get straw to work right now will come back to it later.
As far as the outside stuff I don't put my shit out doors guess I am just paranoid.

Do you actually -throw- your subs out, they can be used for heaps, like fertilizer for one, they can also be made to fruit again without endangering future projects.
Lol @ All of this throwing out business, if you have a garden and the weathers good, you can put cakes/bulk subs that still have fruting power left in them, in the garden, water it everyso often and you will get bonus outdoor boomers.

Yeah, or I could just make another tray and fruit it lol I just make more, I get a good 3-4 flushes and throw em out in the back yard under the trees under some mulch. Thats my definition of throwing em out

I did up until a few years ago. That must be how this one ended up at the Seattle Botanical Gardens. RR

If it has pins that are close to finishing, then keep it going. After picking your pins or if you have no pins, just bury the substrate in horse poop outside and water it.
My last dubtub contamed and I managed to get some fruits off of it before I buried it outside.

You can salt paste the effected area to slow it down to finish off the flush then chuck it

It's pretty much trashed if it has trich. I've had some success holding trich off with heavy salting and removing huge chunks of substrate, but it is really only a stopgap measure until the pins have fruited, and after a few days the trich will show up again.

Thats what I did...the trich still came back the next day. I really hope you cut your tub up outside otherwise your grow area might be screwed.

You can take a plastic bag and reach in and grab it and close it up inside the bag
be sure to take some of the surrounding area as to not disturb the contam.
Or take the casing outside, check the wind and with it blowing away from the rest of the cake just cut out the contamed part and all of the surrounding area that is loose and not colonized.
This should work if you are trying to salvage the casing, otherwise you could just throw it out

Yes it is possible to save your crops. Although it depends on how much mold there is. I've scooped out a little bit on a tray-casing and that tray was successful. Make sure you spray the mold area with water so the spores don't fly everywhere when you disturb it. Also, scoop around the outside of the mold so you don't "hit" it and disturb it a lot more than you should.
Furthermore, if there is mold on the casing it is likely that there might be mold somewhere in the inside or the bottom. My tray that I mentioned -if I can remember- it flushed good once, but I tossed it out after that because I discovered some mold beginning on the bottom.
If the mold is covering MOST of the surface on the tray you should just toss it out. More trouble than necessary. Try to make it an outdoor project if you have the means.
