Mushrooms without spores growing?

Ok, so I have no spores to grow from I can get mushrooms, dried, stems and heads, or powdered. I have access to a science lab, and the contents. I want to be able to reporduce mushrooms with the most commercially available products, unless lab chems are needed. I have so far a beaker and a petri dish at hand, and can sterilize it, etc. any givers? Any help is greatly appreciated

I dont think you can Clone Dry Mushrooms. I could be wrong. But, if you had some fresh mushrooms you could start a grow on agar and transfer. But I just dont see this happening With Dry mushrooms.

Most likely there are spores on the dried shrooms. You can try it out, but your going to need more than one petri dish with agar. Because its been contaminated and will require transfers. Its more work this way, I suggest save your money up and get some spores from a vendor, unless you like a challenge, then go for it ^^

There are spores in dried mushrooms...
It is possible, but obviously much more difficult as there are many factors at play. Such as how the mushrooms were dried? (high heat can kill the spores.)
Also the spores will be far from clean so agar work will be a necessity.

Order a syringe from Sporeworks.com
And while you wait for it, go buy a bag of vermiculite, a pack of 1/2 pint jars, and some brown rice flour(rye flour and wheat flour works). and a pressure cooker.
And read a bit about what you've ordered. follow THIS tek.also read this
you'll also need a bag of perlite and a big clear plastic container.

you can clone from dried mushrooms i saw a tek for it on here, ill try to find it. you will definetly need a lot of agar and petri dishes and it hit and miss at that. its really hard to do tho. ordering a syringe is much simpler.
check these threads out, RR says it can be done http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/2390329 http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/4360062#4360062

Sounds good. I can get a few petri dishes. Where am I supposed to find agar?
