Well i succeeded at my first grow mazapatec, brf cakes,no contams, got about an ounce and a half from 9 half pinters,so i nocked 12 golden teacher jars which 3 contamed, they are now fruiting.i succeeded at making my own syringes and nocked 6 maza,1 pinters, none contamed.but now im wondering if these bigger jars are going to produce larger mushrooms,or more mushrooms?and how could i get larger fruits anyhow,THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT REPLIES!HAPPY SHROOMING!

The downside of doing 1 pint PF tek jars from spores is that they often don't fully colonize, and you can usually do 2 half pint runs from spore to fruit in the time it takes one pint to colonize and fruit. I'd really only reccomend trying 1 pint PF tek again if you have a clean liquid culture to use. Not saying it's impossible, I've done it several times, the results just usually aren't satisfactory considering how long colonization takes if it even finishes, and the fact that the yield usually isn't close to double a regular PF cake.
In my experience at least, I'll get more yield and quicker colonization if I split the pint up. Basically fill half the pint jar with PF tek, apply a dry verm, then fill the other half up with PF tek. Use enough LC so that it drips down beyond the dry verm, and viola, once colonized you pop it out and effectively have two half pint cakes. Using just LC on one big cake it always has seemed to colonize slower for me, and not yeild much more than one regular sized PF cake would (though I don't have a logical reason as to why, that's just what has seemed to be the results I'd get)
Doc T made up a nice little post on the above described method: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/11861471#11861471

why wouldn't they fully colonize?mine are at 80 or 90 percent, and seem to be going fast,i used at least 2cc per jar,and accidentally used 5 5 or 6 cc on first jar.

to random it will work fine and quickly if you give enough spores and make good cakes. if your cakes are more dense and not fluffy it most def will stall/stop. so take extra care to keep the cake fluffy as possible. more coated verm and larger verm if possible will help. basically what your doing with the extra verm layer. but ya if it works it works and perhaps more foodl proof
