Sterilizing 50/50 in an oven?

I did some searches and looked through the FAQ about sterilizing 50/50 mix but most of the literature is about either pressure cookers or microwaves. I'm having trouble finding information about using an oven. Could I simply put the mixture into a pan and bake? If so what temperature and how long?

It works but your mix will dry out very fast. make sure substrate is wet before cooking. I'm not sur on cooking times

From Nansnook here:
"Sterilization:
First lay out a section of aluminum foil. Dump the pre-mixed casing material into the foil. Close at the ends, until a square is formed. Bake in oven for one hour at 250 degrees. This method has been tested extensively and is completely effective."
I tried it recently and it seemed to work well.

Or just stick it in the microwave for 5 minutes, mix, and then 5 more minutes

Add water till it's almost like thin oatmeal. Put foil on it and pop a few sets of fork holes thru it. I ran mine for a few hours (fell asleep again. story of my life) Take it out and stir it as soon as it's out of the oven it should look like thick oatmeal now but not 2 thick u should beable to get it real close. put the foil back on and let it cool. Clean the spoon b4 using it in the 50/50 I usually wait atleast 4 hours to put it on. Alittle warm won't hurt. I've pushed mine up to around 200 or so and it works fine I shoot for lower but my oven is hard to control

I saw someone else post this about ovens the other day, cant remember who.
You could trying putting a jar of water in the oven so it will keep the humidity up, and not dry out your stuff while still steralizin it.

I WOULD do the microwave thing but my backwards ass house is still in the 19th century. I'll probably try the foil idea. Wrap the mix up into a square and bake it for an hour at 250 degrees.

Sorry I forgot to mention this . . . I would recommend putting foil down on a cookie sheet, then putting down your 50/50, and then turning up the corners of the foil. So basically do the same thing, except have the foil on a cookie sheet/baking pan. This will provide a rigid surface with support that foil cannot give; otherwise you may be looking at disaster (casing soil all over the floor). Hope this helps you out!
